Hi I have generally enjoyed the banter on the forum but the bunch of up their own ass bell ends that have taken it upon themselves to belittle anyone that dont agree with. So I will make it as simple as their views and delete my profile and move on. I have a low tolerance of self superiority and idiots congratulations

I rarely go into politics threads as I wasn't even old enough to vote at the last election, but from what I can tell you're not allowed to not be a labour supporter on here.
Interestingly it's the same group who get upset when you criticise Mick Mccarthy or Cole Skuse.

Glasgow Blue, Stokie and various other non Labour voters are well respected posters on the site and manage to engage in discussions without ever appearing to be apologists for racism.
This bloke made dubious remarks, he was challenged on them, he blew up and made a tit of himself and decided to publish this post and remove himself from the website.

There are plenty of posters in this thread defending him who I have seen do the exact same thing on here over matters of race and there are a few who are misguided and didn’t bother to read the whole thread before jumping in two footed. We haven’t conversed much and I don’t recognise you’re username so I’ve no idea which camp you’re in but the whole thread is becoming quite the farce.

Take it you're not a fan of Greta Thunberg if you don't like young people giving their opinions to adults.
Not sure I give 'life lessons' as 90% of the time I stick to football threads.
What act? You've never met me so how can you say it's an act?

Firstly, I think Greta Thunberg may have a greater appreciation of a fully researched opinion than you're displaying here...

Secondly, in fact your posts are a good example of why a lot of older people unfairly dismiss the thoughts of all young people.

Thirdly, I've met Greta Thunberg and son, you're no Greta Thunberg.

If you don't know the context then why are you giving it the big'un?

Right, so there's the answer, you and a few others have jumped in and you've no idea what it is you're talking about whilst trying to lecture others.

Do your homework next time kid.

Since I doubt many people on here have second sight, it's a perfectly reasonable thing to read an OP and comment on it for what is written in it, without having to read every other thread on p1 of the forum first just in case there is some context in those 25 (or whatever number it is) other threads that might relate to the OP, even tho there is no clue in the OP about any other thread. Particularly when replying to the OP before anyone else has given any context. Look at the timings of posts.

Yeah, me too, although I couldn’t give a monkeys who other people vote for, there choice, innit.

Enjoy discussions on here with people on here who hold different stances, already cited Glassers and Stokie but many a time over the last decade someone with alternative values to my own has made a pertinent point in a discussion on here that has offered food for thought.

Edit: on top of that I’m not particularly married to who I vote for, I vote based on policy and it just so happens that since I turned 18 I’ve always agreed with more of labours rhetoric and values than that if any other party.

They should probably listen and adjust their position when the context is explained to them by the people who have read it though.

Honestly, half the problems on this site stem from posters doubling down and refusing to give an inch when their argument, which is more often than not an opinion, falls apart.

Unacceptable stuff should be called out, but I'm going to be honest this forum is a bit of an echo chamber for the same 10ish posters. From what I can tell they're all fortyish but are still trying desperately to be cool. Just ignore them if it bothers you.

Several posts were removed last night and one or 2 posters banned.

The comments section will tell you all you need to know. If you think being against people being persecuted because of their colour is 'playing the race card' then your views will fit in nicely there.

If not, then as I say, how about being a bit nicer to others and a little less hypocritical yourself?

The OP is basically upset because people called him out for arguing "All Lives Matter" in reference to McGoldrick kneeling. It's a daft thing to say, especially right now.

Even if you do believe ALM > BLM, then at least argue your point instead of going all flouncey and leaving the site. No one has a problem with differing views but people should at least be able to back them up, or expect to be challenged on such a sensitive topic.

And some people are so entrenched in their views on 13:14 - Jun 21 with 702 viewsfactual_blue

There is indeed quite a bit of that..... on 12:50 - Jun 21 by Bloots

….agreed.

The main problem is that some people are so entrenched in their views that they will not listen to anyone else's and simply shut them down.

There is no middle ground with the majority of people on here, and they are totally polarised in their opinions. This has always been an issue whether the subject was football or politics, but without any meaningful football, it's all just politics.

The forum is no different to all social media where anyone can post anything, whether it's true or not and then everyone just piles on, if you try and point out any inaccuracy you just get ignored or abused.

My main issue is how threads get hijacked by people spouting their political opinions and abusing others, when the original point was not political. You could post a picture of your dinner and within 10 posts you'd have the lefty bum fest brigade arguing with the rabid right arsewipes.

My only suggestion is to click on the football only filter, but it's slim pickings at the moment for obvious reasons.

Anyway.

Lambert out.

I would just suggest that we all do what we can to seek out the context around something before diving in, whether that be hunting it down ourselves or asking others.

I reckon things might run a lot smoother that way around here with that approach and hopefully we could avoid the situation where people get embedded in an argument that they don't really want to be in, but won't back out because they also really don't want to be wrong.

Didn't read the posts but I'm strongly in favour of the BLM movement and am strongly against all forms of prejudice. Anyone blaming people of 'playing the race card' are immediately revealing themselves to be a racist. Please don't get the wrong impression of me.
That post the other day was more a joke at how older people can be a little embarrassing online, there was no malicious intent. It was probably unnecessary and I apologise.
I don't mean to be ageist either, it's just I've occasionally been belittled for it (not on here) I don't like being seen as less intelligent because I'm young.

Yep also blatant disgusting bullying on display a while back in a thread's first line of text for maximum effect in plain sight for all to see and not one of the warriors here called it out.

It was a fine advertisement for the sorry state that the TWTD's forum has now become.

Some of the those here who proclaim to care so much about this, that and the other but who looked the other way in regards to this nasty behavior are the last people i'd want alongside me at a protest.

A quick "what's this all about then?" would be all it needed.
