ST Refund Options 10:48 - Jul 8 with 5044 viewsuefacup81

Look good to me, especially the fact that any option which doesn't involve getting the cash back comes with a 25%-50% incentive attached.

No doubt some will be irked by the way any refund will be spread out, but I can pretty much understand where the club is coming from given the potential sums involved.

You're comparing apples with oranges.

Poor customer service shown to ONE fan, versus the prospect of having to give cash refunds to 10,000-odd fans.

If it was a single £100-odd refund perhaps I'd agree with you, but given that refunding £1m in one go would destroy the club's finances, forgive me if I think you're being a bit of a d*ck here.

I’m not asking for it back in one go. I’m purely pointing out when it’s on their terms they’ll want that money ASAP, boot on other foot and it’s when they say.

In all honestly I don’t care. £70 over three payments isn’t really worth the wait and I’ll end up going for vouchers I would have thought, Xmas/bday presents sorted.

I just don’t care too much for those trying to preach at others when the club have acted poorly towards them in the past. For that I believe those people are acting like d1cks, and I’m not asking for forgiveness for that

Oh I see it.

The admin error wasn’t treated with any goodwill - I had to take a payment option that DIDNT suit me at the time in order to get the price I originally signed up to but didn’t get because of them.

I will absolutely not be forcing the issue or demanding the money in full, Im just a little miffed that the high and mighty are trying to tell us how we should feel that option is fair - without knowing how the club have fcked them previously.

It is fair, and I am not being 'high and mighty'. You are just being bitter (maybe legitimately in your mind). But instant refunds would damage the Club. They are going over and above to treat people fairly over this - with a bonus attached in the form of any vouchers given.
But it would seem that you have reached the point where you see every defeat, every transfer, every managerial decision, every pronouncement from the Club as a personal vendetta against you. Am I right in thinking you said you won't be renewing? Enjoy the break and get rid of some of that anger.

I’ll be honest, I haven’t even considered them ballsing the ST up for me at any other point than this one. Didn’t mention it on here at the time, it’s pretty much come to mind as ironic they can make the Rules work for them. Nothing more nothing less

Nothing to do with that situation 3/4 years back, but my issues with the club is the ongoing constant let down they are. Zero enjoyment from attending games (and this has been a long term thing) I haven’t renewed for next season (purely as I didn’t know if/when we’d return and I saw it absolutely pointless me paying for something I can’t ‘do’ - same with my gym memebership etc.

Town for me is love/hate. I moan but know I’ll be there regardless.... however this break really has opened my eyes to how little I miss it. I’m sure a few good results and that’ll be forgotten, but hand on heart I don’t miss it at all

I'll let the club keep it. I've saved a few £s in football related costs in the last few weeks, travel, beers etc if the club can use my refund for the benefit of the club then I'm fine with that

You get an uppie for the fair response. I know you 'wear your heart on your sleeve', and therefore are prone to an emotional response when it comes to Town. We have all had our frustrations in recent seasons, and I must admit I have enjoyed the break far more than I thought I would - especially as I travel a fair way to attend matches. I am sure you will be back. Hopefully next season when we are cruising our way towards promotion...

My refund amount is £76, so 50% of that won't get much. I've just gone for the cash voucher, the club still gets my money the same as option A, it's just that they give a bigger value voucher. I'll probably just get the shirt with it.

....but it's up to you obviously.

It's not just one fan. I'd say every fans relationship with the club has been pretty one sided in recent years. It's been sh!te on the pitch and sh!te off it. The fans have shown unbelievable loyalty. They got behind the club last summer despite relegation and again this summer. The fact 9,000 are renewing for next season in the current climate is remarkable. I also suspect that a significant % will take up options other than a cash refund. This being whilst the players and management team that under performed badly last year have not taken a pay cut.

The club should be a community asset and even though it is ultimately a business there is an element of charity involved. It becomes increasingly more difficult to keep providing that goodwill when the club seems to be run so poorly and the fans are taken for granted though.

I've gone for the refund.

Can't see any football being played in stadia before Summer 21. If this improves, I'll come along and pay.

As an altruist and all round legend I've donated my refund to the club even though the chances of me being able to use the cash voucher they give me are close to zero. To be fair they won't be getting much out of me for the foreseeable so I'm happy to contribute.

Think Town have done well with this. I've gone for the donation option as it seems like a sunk cost really and I want to help the club, but wouldn't judge anyone whose circumstances are different.

Anyone criticising the Club over this really needs to just F... Off and find another club to 'support'. I think ME has been more than fair in the range of options available, whilst trying to minimise the impact on the Club's finances going forwards.

I completely agree. Plenty of good options to meet all individual scenarios. I just hope Hans won’t judge others decision. This is a challenging time and not everyone can afford not to get a full refund.

A the club keeps the money but gives you a voucher as a 'loyalty reward', C they don't and you get a higher value voucher in lieu of getting the money back.

Yes, but if I don't use the voucher (or only some of it) the club still has the money that already went to them, they aren't out of pocket.

Then spend all your voucher if that's what you're worried about.

They essentially lose out in some form in a roundabout way but you gain whatever. If you're that worried about it ask for a full refund.

I'm not worried about anything. As I said I'll get a shirt with it (instead of getting it with the 50% voucher and paying the small difference) and if I ever do use the rest it will likely be on tickets for people who don't usually go.

But yes, the club is massively out of pocket from me doing that as opposed to option A, my bad.

Think the club have been very fair , with so many options .

The feeling of " All being in it together " would be so much better if we heard that the manager and the players that performed so poorly have taken a decent cut in their money .

Went for the refund option over my remaining direct debit payments. Suspect my £27.75 a month will go down to roughly £20 a month. No point in the voucher things for me as I honestly cannot remember the last time I set foot in planet blue, let alone buy anything from there.

Whatever people say about Evans he's very fair to the fans. The options were great IMO.

I'm going for the 6 game credit for next season. I assume it's an amount in GBP which gets credited to your account so will only buy 5 tickets at normal prices but it's still a great option from the club.
