Think generally the forum has gone pretty well over the lockdown and beyond and has been a really good place to be during a difficult time. However, the last week or so has got pretty unpleasant. I really don't think anyone should need reminding that abuse, stirring, winding-up etc is not welcome and those that continue to do it won't be welcome, as is now the case for a couple of previously regular users. A return to the civility of earlier in the summer would be appreciated.

It's not always possible to agree to disagree and move on though. For instance in the case where two women both claim to be the mother of a child. How would you handle that?
I would suggest handling that by first suggesting that solomon also posts as Homer_123, here's the evidence:

Agree with much of this. The litmus test for me is to what extent people would act how they do on here in 'real life'. Not that I'm some particularly scary brute or anything but it does surprise me the tone and language some people use on here. Not a cat in hell's chance those people would talk like that face to face. I think a bit of courtesy goes a long way, and people should try and treat each other how they wish to be treated. It should really go without saying.
Have to agree.
I’m pretty well known from on here in real life because I’ve posted my twitter account and my infamous man bag at games. So plenty of people have stopped for a chat, including people that I’ve had disagreements with. But I’ve always tried to stick to the idea that I only say stuff I’d say in real life - whether that be good or bad.

I met monytowbray at a game purely because I knew who he was, as he was kitted out in his famous taco wear, so went up to say hello. Think it certainly helps reduce the arguments when those disagreeing have met in real life - maybe it's a matter of then just thinking of them as human beings, rather than anonymous usernames.
