A photo of migrants on a small boat, with the caption "Where's Jaws when you need him" a a pic of Jaws.

Apparently, that is not against Facebook's community standards. No explanation as to why not. WTF is wrong with this world?

It's poison. A large number of the comments you get under any post on social media about migrants are at best uncharitable and mean, and then run through the whole spectrum to outright racist.

We're here partly because of the likes of Farage (he's certainly a lightning rod at the moment), right wing commentators in general and a right wing press who have demonised foreigners for as long as I can remember. It's sad. People must live empty, lonely lives to get so worked up about it.

I have said this a few times but get no takers.

You should take a look on the MSN site. The comments under any story relating to either immigrants or BLM are disgusting. In fact, it doesn't have to be BLM related, someone will make it so.

I mean openly saying, "Well that's one less to worry about" following the death of anyone non-white.

I can't even be bothered to begin to list them.

Anything you have heard anywhere since the 1970s will be on there somewhere.

Bizarrely, each time I've tried to argue it's my posts that get deleted and the completely mad ones that get left up.

I must have reported a hundred to date and possibly half a dozen of those have been removed.

It's pretty normalised behaviour when migrants and refugees have been largely dehumanised by our politicians and media over the past couple of decades.

Disgusting stuff that too much of society has bought into and too many of us have passively watched happen or "rewarded" with votes.

But yes, you're right.

FB aren't much better at all.

And I got banned from commenting on there for calling someone a **** for posting the sort of thing you are talking about.

You only get no takers because we all stopped looking at the MSN site in 1997 .

I can imagine though - it's pretty prevalent across different platforms.

(Cough) A few million in Scotland want to flee.

And while Scotland is to the left politically of the rUK which underpins much of the Independence movement, it's probably around the area of nationalism/xenophobia/anti-immigration that there's the biggest single divergence from UK public and political opinion.

It does make me wonder just HOW sheltered are some of these people that even the sight of a non-white person upsets them. I mean, they must never visit a hospital, shop, takeaway, use a taxi, visit large towns...

Not only does their racial hatred make me angry, but Jaws is my favourite film. The shark is called Bruce. Not Jaws. Why do these b@st@rds do this?!

All social media platforms are very conservative with their censorship as they don't want to lose customers and with it ad revenue essentially. I've reported lots to Facebook and Twitter to be told they don't violate standards when they clearly do.

There are a lot of people whose lives are sh1t and they punch down rather than look up or in a mirror. Often they spout incredibly racist views, I had it with a lad I used to train with or basically outed himself on my wall. Spent years saying "edgy" stuff and spilling into outright racism whilst pretending he cared about paedophilia - (took a status of mine about people using Lee Rigby to cover their racism to mean him when I had no idea he'd been posting about it) to start a big row with several people.

He clearly had a bit of paranoia from his excessive weed habit it turned out, but is no great loss. He'd also not say a word face to face, and that's the crux of it. There are tens of thousands out there like him.

What's bebo? Is that a new platform out? Cheeky feckers.

I do of course mean the news articles on the main page, to be clear.

There are the day's leading stories taken from various publications: Guardian, Sky, whatever, and there are the regular comments sections underneath the articles.

I'm not referring to some chat thing!
