And a press and establishment who systematically destroyed public trust in experts because they needed the gullible to believe in unicorns during the Brexit campaign. The same people now pleading with us and acting astonished that people aren’t following the expert advice.
Oh, and a de facto PM who trashed the Public Health message by flagrantly breaking the rules and then lying about it whilst the actual PM didn’t have the balls to stand up to him. Choosing instead to throw the country’s elderly and vulnerable under the bus in order to save Wormtongue’s job.
It’s a perfect storm of sh1t at the worst possible time and all of us will pay the price, some of us the ultimate price.

It's why no one should ever experience imposter syndrome. This man is PM and has literally no idea what's going on but to make matters worse he's surrounded himself with sycophants who have to try to defend/pander to him.

I imagine when he first stepped through the door of his new home he thought "Oh fcuk, what do I do now?" and he has been thinking it just about every day since.

He's staggeringly incompetent and he just doesn't care. He wanted the job because he sees it as his birth right but he's too feckless and lazy to do the job. He knows it but his ego won't allow him to acknowledge it and step aside. The worst PM we've had and quite possibly the worst we will ever have.
Because of this the return to normal will happen when enough people get fed up and just do it. The government won’t be able to stop it and instead will grant permission as if it was their idea
