Up yours you brexit-sceptics!! on 13:24 - Oct 17 by SpruceMoose | Why is it that Brexit seems to appeal to only the smoothest of brains? Tis a mystery. |
Don't see why it worries you. You choose not to live here. Think the country you live in has enough problems for you to worry about.

Up yours you brexit-sceptics!! on 08:34 - Oct 17 by bazza | Such a shame there’s so many people in this country who have zero faith in it... one way or another we will agree a deal.. good on boris for standing firm, and not bowing to the bullies in Brussels, it’s all about saving face in Europe, they can’t let it be seen to be easy to leave, because they know there would be a mass exodus of other countries who are sick of the shackles of the European Union. #Ignore the dummy spitters.. #GETBREXITDONE 🤣🤣🤣ðŸ‘ðŸ»ðŸ‘🻠[Post edited 17 Oct 2020 12:49]

I still think we'll end up with a deal too. But for different reasons. We're very close in what we each want and we're only negotiating over a relatively small part of our trade with the EU, so there's little reason not to. Although the posturing has to be seen to be done so both sides can claim a win (more important for us on that point). It won't affect financial services though, which will hurt. There won't be an exodus of other countries leaving the EU whether we agree a trade deal now or not.

Silly lad. Don't be jealous. You don't see why it worries me because you lack any kind of ability to form meaningful thoughts. Let me put it to you in a question. Why wouldn't a British citizen currently working abroad be worried about the state the country will be in when they return - especially when all their family still live there? Clearly the country is in the pan, and for what? So a bunch of losers who have never won anything in their lives can, through the process of tying their entire identity to the most tragic political movement of our lifetime, feel like they're finally winning something? If just one of you folk who are erect for hard Brexit could actually express why and how it will bring benefits beyond spewing your silly little slogans that would be a miracle. In short, don't be wet Alan. [Post edited 17 Oct 2020 13:37]

Whatever deal is cobbled together the UK will be worse off. The idea that larher ecnomies will look at a 69m UK as favourably as they did with a 450m EU is beyond absurdity. If a smaller nation left one of the other numerous trade blocs would the UK then expect to offer it more favourable terms ? Big supermarket chains hit farmers and producers hard because they have the buying power (clout) to do so. The idea that a single Tesco shop could break away from Tesco and then strike a better deal is, as I say, absurd. Each shop being part of Tesco benefits it in buying power, and importantly acknowledged standardisation. That's what McDonalds delivers. The punters know what they are getting - be it in Braintree or Beijing. That's what EU regulation means. UK companies can trade back and forth under agreed standards. The idea that the UK could apply different standards; then trade with the EU is about as realistic as ITFC leaving LI and expecting to play games based on their rules. Yep, ITFC could leave L1, the FA etc and strike friendlies with the likes of Real Madrid, PSG, Bayern etc.... playing under our own rules all of which would generate greater income (supposedly) - because that is what the brexiteers are deluding themselves about. The rest of the world is part of some trade bloc. We know join North Korea and a couple of other rogue states who are not. Ever wondered why the rest are not following the UK into this isolation ?

Having opinions not based on facts (and not changing through facts) isn’t worthy of respect. Especially when it will hurt people fairly significantly. If you think you’re getting it bad just wait and see how that attitude will be viewed in a few years’ time.

On the other hand I see, fairly regularly among the insults which you correctly identify, serious questions being asked of Brexit supporters to go into a little more detail of the tangible benefits which we should all expect to accrue from Brexit and some sort of timescale for this. I actually think the abuse plays into the hands of those who are happy to repeat whatever the latest pro-Brexit slogan is as it enables the "conversation" to move away from a serious assessment of perceived pros and cons.

Time is the ultimate teller of truths.. waste of time getting in a discussion to ultimately be abused and ridiculed by people who will never change there opinion, no matter how much the country prospered in the future, they would still hunt for the negatives, rather than accepting the positives.

So leaving the biggest trading block in the world right on our doorstep to be bullied into trading on their terms is the negative we are hunting hard to find ... while a trade deal with the Ivory Coast is the positive we are suppressing? Are you absolutely certain you have this the right way round?

I am better than a lot of these people. That won't be popular but I don't care. I'll set out my case for why I'm better. I'm not racist. I'm not xenophobic. I'm prepared to listen to experts. I have a realistic understanding of the limits of my own intellect and I'm prepared to listen to others who know more. I'm empathetic. I don't blame others for my own shortcomings. I'm engaged with my community. I help others who are less fortunate than myself. I make a genuine effort to not let my unconscious biases impact my world view. I don't tie my feelings of selfworth or my entire identity to politicians or political movements. I hold flexible, non-dogmatic positions based on evidence, thoughtfulness, and kindness. If you think people are justified in being awful because people point out that they're being awful then I don't know what to tell you mate. Some people are just garbage. I'm better than that. My existence in this world is more beneficial to others than their existence is. That's just truth. [Post edited 17 Oct 2020 16:04]
