Do not be fooled by the two wins 18:17 - Oct 31 with 5782 views | groovyASH | The frailties and limitations have been depressingly evident in the past two games. Crewe showed how to drill a squad to play effective possession football and outplayed us across 90 minutes. Scambert has not learnt anything from last season; changing shape and hoping for the best doesn't cut it. Where is the coaching and improvements in the players themselves? Its not there because Scambert and his team are incompetent coaches. Players like Judge and Sears are absolutely robbing a living this season. They are slow and predictable. What the hell players like Bennetts need to do to be given a chance over these types of performances is beyond me. I've said it once, I will say it again; last seasons weaknesses have just carried over into this season, its only a matter of time before they are reflected in the results and league position. We will not finish in the top 6 if Scambert and his team remain in charge. [Post edited 31 Oct 2020 18:22]

Do not be fooled by the two wins on 19:37 - Oct 31 by SuperCoops | Let's concentrate on THIS season before we start looking and/or predicting next year, yeah? |
In all fairness, you're not wrong. It's likely that Lambert willfail to get us promoted anyway.

Do not be fooled by the two wins on 07:42 - Nov 1 with 1067 views | dirtyboy | If there’s a positive, it’s that we defend pretty well. At 1-0, last season, not playing well, we’d have likely capitulated and conceded, but this year we look a bit different and whilst teams will always get chances, they are restricted. Yesterday we needed Holy, but that’s not been a common occurrence, so he did his job. I don’t enjoy criticising, but will agree that judge is not right in this team and Huws, Bishop and Dozzell are the three that compliment each other best, (sans Downes) even a below par Huws offers a more predictable outlet in the midfield for those around, plus he’s far better in the air winning balls in midfield. So as a perpetual optimist (full of pragmatism) I’m not prepared to hit a panic button, although I see why some aren’t happy.

That's great for them but firstly, they showed our weaknesses pretty ruthlessly when we'd started to suggest we might actually be doing quite well

Do not be fooled by the two wins on 09:50 - Nov 1 with 991 views | ArnieM | I don’t think any of us are foolish enough to think Town are necessarily playing particularly well at times in games. And those that suggest that others are accepting poor standards ( just because we are happy to have a win ) are misguided. My question is simply this: Would Town fans rather have brilliant performances (like Crewe did in the first half yesterday), but end up losing games or getting a draw, or would fans rather we got 3 points for the majority of the games , ( nicking points against the run of play, being “ jammy “ or “lucky bar stewards”) but ultimately get promoted ? For me , it has to be the latter . We HAVE to get out of this league this season. And frankly I don’t give a flying one HOW we achieve it. The infighting amongst Town fans that happens after every game these days is frankly sickening and totally demoralising. Reading some of the posts on here and on Facebook etc actually made yesterday’s win feel like a loss. Is it too much to ask Town fans to actually unite just for one season for a perceived common goal: promotion?

Do not be fooled by the two wins on 10:49 - Nov 1 with 941 views | Swansea_Blue | We started the season really well and were playing some nice stuff with purpose imo. But in the last couple have games we've regressed to where we were at the start of last season when we were winning despite the performances, not because of them. Deja vu is setting in.

Exactly. Of course the 3 points are welcome but the performances are far from promotion standard, imo.

Do not be fooled by the two wins on 18:24 - Oct 31 by Basuco | Crewe only had three shots on target, that is very good defending, calm down, long way to go yet. |
Yes, I was impressed with the back 4 and Holy. They could have done with a bit more cover from central midfield, but Woolfenden and McGuinness do look like a decent partnership.

You can't expect to nick points against the run of play for 46 games.

Do not be fooled by the two wins on 08:14 - Nov 3 with 724 views | hatch | The Sunderland fans have enjoyed this thread... https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/ipswich-fans-thoughts.1532442/ Seems to be a general acceptance that we’re two sides with similar ambitions and similar performance. A few 0-0 predictions with my favourite quote of PL and PP enjoying a glass of tepid water together after the game given how dull they are.

I understand what you are saying, but I don’t think it’s a question of either results or good football. The two should go hand in hand and do for most successful teams. I don’t expect us to play brilliantly and win every week. No team does. But I think we should be playing better more often than we do. I also don’t think it’s acceptable to go into games like Donny and Lincoln as frightened underdogs, let alone be dominated like we were on Saturday. It’s division 3 (in old money) for goodness sake! Teams that scrape results nearly always fall away. People have every right to be cynical after years of abject dross and now saddled with a manager that has proven to be clueless. These players have a track record of gutlessly falling away and we know PLs only solution is to play even more people out of position and tell us the sun is shining when it’s hammering down. While optimism is a good thing and we all want better times, I think most people are realists too and can see what’s in front of them. That’s not ‘infighting’ in my view, just people who want better..
