7 games between now and Christmas... 12:04 - Nov 23 with 4848 views | clive_baker | How many points are we saying? The fixtures look less daunting from Boxing day, but the next 7 until then are mostly toughies: Tue 24 Nov 7:00pm Hull City H Sat 28 Nov 3:00pm Charlton Athletic H Tue 1 Dec 7:00pm Oxford United A Sat 5 Dec 3:00pm Plymouth Argyle A Sat 12 Dec 3:00pm Portsmouth H Tue 15 Dec 7:45pm Burton Albion H Sat 19 Dec 3:00pm Peterborough United A 13+ would be good, but I can't see it. I'll go for 10 points.

7 games between now and Christmas... on 12:06 - Nov 23 with 2685 views | homer_123 | It depends - if we are looking at automatic promotion, then we've got to be looking at 14 to 15 points from those for me. Gotta win those home games and grab an away win or draw from somewhere.

7 games between now and Christmas... on 12:11 - Nov 23 with 2656 views | TheTrueBlue1878 | Sad as f*ck but tried to work out top 6's next games as well until 19/12. Ourselves, Pompey have toughest outings, Chalrton have the easiest. For us maybe 7 at a push. Burton (H) a win, a win and draw at Oxford/Plymouth. 0 elsewhere. Would sit us on 32 points probably around 8th in the league. Hull or Charlton leading the pack. As I said, sad as f*ck.

4?, maybe 5..... on 12:12 - Nov 23 with 2644 views | Bloots | ....I think our home "record" is a bit of a false flag when you look at the teams we've actually played at home. I expect we'll beat Burton. And maybe get a couple of draws out of Oxford and Plymouth.

7 games between now and Christmas... on 12:14 - Nov 23 with 2637 views | SomethingBlue | Hull — draw Charlton — draw Oxford — defeat Plymouth — win Portsmouth — draw Burton — win Posh — defeat Nine. Hmmmm. Anything above 10 is OK from that lot, for me. Anything below 10 and big questions remain ... [Post edited 23 Nov 2020 12:14]

I was going to say 5, possibly, just maybe might get a win at Oxford. Did watch them against Crewe and they looked like toothless/powder puff. Plymouth a tough outting, watched them draw against Pompey. I know they got spanked v Fleetwood, but have been good on home soil.

Lol, not sad. I think the difficulty with it is it's hard to determine a hard game at this level. Hull have only lost twice, one was to Swindon. Peterborough lost recently to Crewe, who Pompey beat 4-1 on Saturday. Charlton are in good form, but it wasn't long ago they lost to Doncaster and Lincoln (as did we) and on Saturday drew at Gillingham, who are bang average. It's all so unpredictable but if we can take 12 or so points from the next 7 it's very good. Although it would be below the 2ppg run rate, you would take that from this set of fixtures in the hope you over deliver vs the Northampton's and Wimbledon's of the world that follow between Christmas and New Year. Anything sub 10 is very disappointing IMO.

Maybe re home record but then you have to look at it in comparison to the others and you see Posh losing to Blackpool, Sunderland drawing with Bristol Rovers and losing to MK, Pompey drawing with Wigan and losing to Shrews. So I won't be sniffing at 6 out of 6. It's the required job and we've done that better than the others. More concerned with how we do in the games like Tues/Sat, which may literally make the difference between second and ninth for us.

....this season personally. When you look at the table as a whole most teams (with the possible exception of Oxford) are where you'd expect them to be at this stage. As always the period between now and the New Year will define the season.

7 games between now and Christmas... on 12:33 - Nov 23 with 2527 views | jayessess | 9 points we *should get* really. 12 points we've proven unable to get thus far. 10 sounds about right. We'll beat Burton, take 4 points off Oxford/Plymouth, then finally win one other of our Top 8 hoodoo games. That'll be 35 points from 19 games overall, putting us about... 7th.

It still counts for quite a lot, it's just a bit different. A lot of teams are having to really fag-packet their preparations and travel, which has more impact than people realise. There is also something to be said re familiarity/spatial awareness in home surroundings. (FWIW I'm not actually sure we'd have won that on Sat with a baying crowd in there. For all our many flaws we did win it by staying patient and not resorting to aimless, hurried punts) Agree re the league as a whole — it's shaken down particularly quickly and I don't think there'll be a dark horse unless someone like MK go on a big run.

Over the season that'd be 84 points, to play devil's advocate ...

The Charlton game is interesting in that respect. It's the end of a 3 home game streak for us, but a 3 away game run for them. Gillingham Saturday (relatively close day trip admittedly), they're up at Burton tomorrow night then at Portman Road Saturday, which I imagine they'll travel up for on the day. Quite a few miles in a short space of time. They've got a good squad on paper but we certainly shouldn't fear them on Saturday. Having Dozzell back will help.
