Again Lambert seems to take digs at younger players 22:16 - Nov 24 with 2987 viewsreusersfreekicks

Did he watch Sears, Judge and Huws?
Is distasteful imo

Yep, that broke the camel's back for me. Having digs at any of the players right now is stupid when he names squads like he has so far this season.

Who was he having a pop at?

Judge has been poor all season, but tonight was one of the worst 90 minutes I've seen from a town player in a long time.

I agree. The players that were truly awful tonight were Huws and Judge. To be fair, Judge didn’t hide but he had no quality about his play. Huws, you could be forgiven for not realising he was on the pitch. The only midfielder who actually wanted to be on the ball and look forward was McGavin. Yes he made a few mistakes, but each time he would bounce back and demand the ball again. Any criticisms of him after watching the rest of the cr*p on offer is completely unfair.

Where are these people who were claiming its just good old fashioned management? Woolfenden has been no where near his level of last year since Lambert trashed him in pre-season, really great management.

Complete and utter fraud.

Thought the same. Hasn’t been great all season.

Tonight was one of the worst performances I’ve seen in a Town shirt, looks shot to bits.

As someone rightly said, if he were an old dog, he’d need to be put out of his misery.

They’re the ones trying. McGuiness a 19 year old rookie the only one at the back trying to organise and lead, what about the others around him with far more experience? McGavin in midfield making his 3rd senior start having at least the confidence and bravery to show for the ball. Some of the senior players are an utter disgrace to the shirt and an embarrassment to the club, but they are exempt from criticism? Inexcusable performances and this has been occurring for some time. Hopefully, when PL leaves he’ll take some of this baggage with him because they’ll be no loss.

Lambert droning on about the young players need to step up as it is not a hobby this is their work. Development is alright but they are now at work.

Everyone should hear what he said. This would be the person who is responsible for managing and developing them. Saying this in public.

This is one of the most disgraceful comments I have ever heard from this club in 45 years.
Someone who is responsible for what happened tonight to come out with what he has said to save his own discredited skin.

Don't let this go away. Lambert needs to be sacked this week.

All of them (although without naming him seemed to point at Lankester for the poor pass for the 3rd). Apparently the young players need to know football isn’t a hobby, it’s a job, and they need to realise what they’re playing for. He then (not very subtly) suggested developing younger players hampers the team’s ability to win games.

He’s an utter disgrace.

We need to get that tosser out of our club. Enough is enough.

Tonight our senior pros needed to step up. Judge, Sears, Huws, Holy, Chambers and Ward didn't.

Norwood did.

Having a pop at the younger players is fine if he can hold his senior pros up as an example. It rather misses the point when said senior pros are consistently poor.

As I pointed out at the weekend, the last couple of old-school managers we've had(Royle and McCarthy) were at pains to always praise and stick up for their players, regardless of how crap they actually were.

Lambert is reading more from the Roy Keane hymn sheet of publcally slagging his players.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Stephen Ward has looked awful to me, just going through the motions, slow, doesn't get close to his opposite number - the combination between him, McGuinness and Bennetts on the left was very, very poor.

I really don't know why anyone would be surprised - this has happened at every club he has been at with only what happened at Norwich masked by the fact he fell onto a winning streak that got them up.

He is a nasty, arrogant self-serving bloke that made many young players worried, scared and some left he game because of it.

He seems to have built a reputation here on his first couple of games, he just looks so leggy to me - I don't think he's got a full EFL season in him playing every week

Judge was really poor. Missplaced passes, no discipline, weak on the ball, he's just not a player any of us would pick.

Huws I had a little bit of empathy for, if you're a midfield player, the one thing you need to know is where the hell your partner is going to be. Receiving a ball from McGavin or the centre halves and looking up to see your midfield partner nowhere in sight does kind of put you at a major disadvantage as to what you can do next.

Norwood and Chambers the only two who I'd say came out of last night with any credibility.

McGavin was clearly told how to operate in that role, but with your centre backs so deep, sitting behind them is no good, you need a willing runner with the ball, when he did that things opened up a little, but ....where the hell would Judge be again.

I'd love to see a touch map for that game.
