I wonder what the odds are on similar scenes here in 2024 should Labour and the SNP manage to win the next election.

Sadly, with another four years of increasingly desperate lies and misinformation to cover up the government's sh1tness, plus the added bonus of GB News potentially becoming the broadcaster of choice for the idiots that voted us into the current mess, it wouldn't surprise me.

GB news has been the broadcaster of choice for certain right-leaning sorts on here for years already.

There are some bad losers in this world today. Very sad to see.

You appear to have spelt 'violent neo-nazis who are desperate to cling on to their moment in the sun' wrong, here.

At this stage I just cannot see it. Johnson hasn’t hit the force of personality of Trump to drive his support - indeed, I don’t think any of the current Conservatives do. The closest we have is Farage and so far, whilst he’s been extremely influential, he has failed to win a Commons seat.

Of course there could be a British Trump hiding on the back benches.

Johnson will be history come the next election.
You’re right about the potential monstrosities lurking in the wings though...

Tom Hunt already has the racism, conspiracy theories and being thick part covered. All he needs is a merry band of extremists and he's there!

There were hundreds in the building, around a hundred were carrying baseball bats, pepper spray..... only 15?!

If a group of 200 people from the English Defence League, stormed the Queens Speech, anyone who entered the Parliament grounds would be in jail.

Very suspect.

Johnson will be gone long before the next election. He looks ill. The Tories are toast and will get less than 200 seats, just as they did when Blair rocked up. Unlike America, we have a vicious ultra critical media who look to make news as well as report it. Johnson has been fair game from the off and been ruthlessly exposed as lazy and grossly incompetent along with the clowns he’s appointed. Opposition rarely win elections. Governments lose them is the old cliche that I think holds good. Starmer should say nothing (he’s good at sitting on the fence) and Labour will walk it.

Anyway, the situation is different with Trump. In the 2016 election, he was novel, different, not establishment and known. Being in America during the Primaries, he was the only news. Nobody else got a look in. But he’s been found out the hard way for the American people.
