reckon we'll ever go back to football, like, ever again? on 10:18 - Jan 29 by clive_baker | I think I'll do fewer, and bigger. I was starting to not enjoy going towards the end, maybe it was too much of a good thing in terms of being exposed to so much football, coupled with how sh1t we were / are. Felt like a chore. I'm really looking forward to going back, but I won't go until it's football as I know it. I don't want to sit in there socially distanced in face mask. I think I'll probably do 1 in 4 games or something, home and away but make more of a day of it. I enjoy the pre match food and beers, soaking up some atmosphere, and a couple post match as a part of it. Can't wait for that again. Just hope Lambert isn't in charge by then as I'll find it hard to accept I'm paying his wages. |
It's been a grind for the past couple of years in all honesty, the social side has been the only saving grace, but to be honest once restrictions lift you will be able to do that and cut out the middle man (ITFC) That's pre supposing Lambert is still in charge.

reckon we'll ever go back to football, like, ever again? on 10:22 - Jan 29 with 808 views | TJS | I think this summer could see the total collapse of season ticket holders at a lot of clubs. I don't really know why I am still paying and I don't think I can do this for another season with nothing in return.

Which is exactly why Town really needed to be bright, alert and forward-thinking during this pandemic — rather than failing spectacularly to an extent that means we may well never get back the club we knew.

I think everyone who cancels next season should still be allowed first choice on their seat when we are back to full stadiums.

The cost of vaccinating everyone every year will be substantial. If the vaccinations are less effective than a year, I can’t see life returning to any form “normality” for a long long time.

reckon we'll ever go back to football, like, ever again? on 08:10 - Jan 29 by Bluefish | Seems there is a story in the Times today about refunding tickets and only allowing local people in. Should make the likes of viagogo interesting for the ones already sold |
That would be bitter sweet as I have tickets to all three England group games but also have a last 16 game in Dublin and a 1/4 final in Rome. Would take being able to go to the 3 England games at present.

I don't think there's any scenario under which current restrictions will continue for a "long long time". Realistically, the amount of time any Government can impose these kinds of controls is extremely limited. They aren't going to be able to make people spend their lives indoors away from other people for half a decade.

reckon we'll ever go back to football, like, ever again? on 11:15 - Jan 29 with 738 views | Kieran_Knows | I think the one thing the past year has taught me is that I don't actually give care much about Town, and it really is just the social side that I have my season ticket for. 14 years as a season ticket holder, and f##k all to show for it other than a play off semi final. Pathetic. Other than the recent games on Sky, the last game I watched before those was Blackpool in October. Evans, Lambert and just about everything about this club has sucked the life out of me the last few years. Hopefully a new man can kick me back in to life again, but knowing Evans, it'll just be another cack manager he appoints.

It's fine to say that, but football for me is a no questions asked, date in the diary that Mrs itfcjoe is aware of If I just wanted to spend my Saturday's in the pub watching Soccer Saturday after about the 3rd weekend there would be plans being made for me...!

I sent back my Dublin tickets this morning and kept the group games. Even if I can go to Dublin it's not going to be the same, ticket is €185, will probbaly have to pay £100 for a private covid test to travel, bars won't be open properly, half capacity ground etc I can just about stomach that for Wembley when it is a couple of hours down the road, but not for all the effort and expense it will bring to go abroad for a game - also kicked back a quarter final ticket in Munich

Thing is, I needed a break from ITFC, I've needed one for a long time, and to begin with it was bliss. honestly felt like a weight was off my shoulders (which sounds absolutely pathetic, because it my choice to support them, im not dealing with a real life issue here, its just football) I didn't take time away when kids were born etc, as I know so many in the past have done, I was going throughout (home games, and maybe 2/3 aways) but as this period has gone on I've passed that needing a break, and i'm now even more angry that I cant shout and scream to PL what I think about him being here. I say I don't care, take the piss out of the club, but lets be honest, we care even more than ever at the mess we are in, even to the point that I took myself up playford road at 0615 the other morning to place "lambert out" signs along the road for all to see on their drive in...… im 36 ffs, lol.... but I just cant stop what the club are for me. just an absolute crying shame that ME's vision for s doesn't match what we all feel for the place.

Thankyou Lambert Miss going to the pub for a couple of pre-match beers though

reckon we'll ever go back to football, like, ever again? on 07:33 - Jan 29 by Bluefish | When you see places like Australia it has just gone back to normal ways. Watching sport hugging in bars, life falls back in place. I think we will be back next season and I have cricket tickets for sold out stadiums and euros tickets this summer so hopefully those times return before then |
Thats because they know what they are doing! We will not be like them for years to come. In fact if you want to watch live sport with large crowds, you probably have more chance over the next couple of years to emigrate to Australia than see if happen over here. I have not been to PR since 2017, and I don't miss it. Like watching other sports live and want to do a few games in Europe but no interest in watching us decline even further and make the game of football like look an impossible mathematical equation.
