If we are in this division, then I'd likely take an option on Wilson and, oddly, Cotter (he won't be big wages and I do think there is a player there).
Chambers and Skuse I'd let go but with a big thank you for their service (freeing up substantial wages). I'd let Huws go - he can play but given his injury record I'd free up his wages as well....though if we can stay fit and play to the level he can, he should be a huge asset. |  |

They will be new contracts.
That’s why some options were taken before the cap came in.
The majority will leave unless the players are happy to take a big wage cut.
This year was the one where we had to go up as we had better players on bigger wages than most others.
Sadly our very well paid incompetent manager has done his incompetent manager thing and our incompetent owner has let him do it because of the stupid contract extension he gave him last year.

If as many were allowed to leave as some suggest here, we almost certainly not be able to make a concerted challenge with the youth that is left plus the few freebies we would enlist. That being the case, I wouldn't give up on Skuse yet either as he has no speed to lose, but still reads the game better than anybody we have, and could play centre half in any emergency (which equals a lot of the time under the current regime). Won't make us competitive, but no point in chucking away any solidity we have without proper replacement. | |
