Imagine running a hotel and having to keep fresh food 17:25 - Feb 13 with 4333 views | Cheltenham_Blue | stocked up, and staff off furlough, even though you've been ordered to close for eight weeks during a global pandemic, just incase ITFC can't play a team. Why isn't such a hotel in Shrewsbury? WHY WHY WHY???? Idiots. [Post edited 13 Feb 2021 17:29]

We can argue about which subjects we haven't argued about if you want.

Most times I’ve ever encountered the team coach leaving a place (just through still hanging about the area and it passing the pub or where I’m walking) I’d back that.

That would make my head hurt I think, even more than usual. We need some input, some ideas on any matters we may have missed.

Oh I dunno. Let's save that one for happier times! We all need something to look forward to after all.

Imagine running a hotel and having to keep fresh food on 17:32 - Feb 13 by Herbivore | The team stayed in a hotel last night. I doubt the logistics of staying another night would have been insurmountable had we wanted to. We seem to prefer to stack up games in hand rather than actually play, we did the same last season too whenever possible. |
Bash Lambert for things he deserves by PhilTWTD 13 Feb 2021 19:43That's a paraphrase of what the Shrewsbury chief exec said, that reporter was stood next to me when he was speaking. Seems the hotel had to get staff in especially for Town last night - I assume a lot of hotels have furloughed everyone - and that it was going to be an effort for them to do it for tonight.

It was going to be an effort, so we decided not to even try. That proves my point rather than yours, friend.

TBF i can't imagine any hotel or worker especially in lockdown turning down the opportunity to earn some money I reckon it's either Lambert or the players didn't want to play tomorrow. Not an issue their choice, but I doubt they even called the hotel tbh

To be fair, Phil said on that thread it's very possible we were investigating the possibility of staying overight. Shrewsbury were making noises that there could be issues with the pitch this morning so we may have been in conversation from that point onwards about possibilities, including contacting Northampton. There's no proof either way and there's far more obvious things to criticise Lambert and the club with than this. If Evans comes to his senses it may mean we have a competent manager in charge when we have to play it.

They travel straight back from away games. Don’t usually stay over after a game unless rarely their next games is nearby so they stay and train down their

We are in a pandemic. Most hotels are not open as there is not enough footfall. Most will only open for football teams. Therefore would only have limited number of staff and would be buying food just for one night.

I was more convinced before i read this post tbh. Most hotels aren't open because there's not enough football? Most only open for football teams? As for the food, that would be the one thing that wouldn't be an issue as remarkably food is obtainable from places other than just hotels. [Post edited 13 Feb 2021 23:38]

I had to travel cross country for a funeral last month and was able to find a hotel to stay in quite easily. Many are open.
