Shame lambert is making more if it. Another desperate move to deflect criticism from him for his awful managerial career at ipswich

That should be the end of the matter but of course in these days of excess scrutiny, it won’t be.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

“ “I wasn’t looking for the referee to apologise; I wasn’t looking for him to be charged. There was never going to be a complaint from me"

How classless that Lambert has said the apology isn’t enough then. I hate the fact that he’s our manager, he’s using the media interest in the incident to deflect his appalling management for the club.

Agree, if it's good enough for the player.

No excuse professionally I know but you never know what's going on in people's lives and the smallest thing can make us snap.

It would be good if the ref's apology and Judge's words since closed the matter but as you say there's a process and once it's started...

I wonder if it could be telling that Judge has come out and basically contradicted him, especially with Jackson also speaking out about goings on at the club today.

We can hope. But I recall the same happening before with the Woolfie and Chambo interviews and little happened, well, except both getting dropped to the bench.

He's probably been cooped up in house for a year worrying about his family, health and livelihood. I appreciate he has to uphold standards but it was just a bit fiery. Slap on the wrist, make him ref Bury Vs Mildenhall and move on.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

Very true. Genuinely baffled as to how he's not been sacked yet.

That's gotta hurt, teacher's pet basically going against the party line.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Credit it to Judge. I think Lambert’s making more of it because he’s somehow trying to get Downes’ suspension overturned by saying the ref was out of control of his emotions at the time.

He must have the Evans and Bluey pee tape in his possession.

"make him ref Bury Vs Mildenhall and move on"

If a ref behaved like that in that fixture they'd probably bury him in the middle of the pitch.

He is, and the whole thing has been greatly overblown to be honest.
