The main thing I've drawn from this thread is that no one seems to find it unnacceptable that you can call someone a "cheating bald c**t".

Presumably you'd all be happy if it was said to you.

I'm not bald or a cheat, but the last aspect I'd have to grudgingly agree with.

Pronouns: He/Him/His. "Imagine being a heterosexual white male in Britain at this moment. How bad is that. Everything you say is racist, everything you say is homophobic. The Woke community have really f****d this country."

Sounds like Judge is saying he did not say that later on, so that bit is at least disputed.

And honestly, I've been called worst. If that's the worst thing he's ever been called during football then I'd be quite surprised.

Of course, refs shouldn't have to deal with any abuse, so whatever AJ said wasn't really the right thing to do. However, I also don't think he dived so...

Judge denies using the word c**t.

This is actually quite interesting when you get into the bit where they tried to contact the club about what Judge has said.

Looking at those timelines (7 March), Judge may have been away from the club on compassionate leave, hence not being available to be contacted.

I still don’t think it was a dive.

Apparently he “ exaggerates his fall in a desperate attempt to gain a penalty kick”!

I wonder if the footage is good enough to lip read what was said. I don't find Drysdale's account credible, not least because if he has watched the footage back he would know that Judge didn't dive.

Even if Judge did exagerrate his fall, that's not simulation. The FA definition is

attempts to deceive the referee e.g. by feigning injury or pretending to have been fouled (simulation)

He definitely didn't feign injury, and the ref hasn't said that he pretended to have been fouled.

Ergo the ref at least got it wrong and may have been cheating, he is definitely bald, and I can see why Judge thought he was a cwnt.

I'm on team Judge.

If you read Henry Winters tweet there's more details from the F A commission of what the ref said and that Judge admitted using abusive language

So why didn’t he send Judge off?

He sent Downes off not long after for abuse didn't he? Seemed to remember the rules then.

Not condoning any abuse at all but I can see it now being picked up by mainstream media/journalists and the reaction is as if there's never been a case of abuse towards an official in the history of football.

Drysdale made a mistake in not cautioning Judge for the abuse in the first place (and given he did it to Downes later on he could well have given him a quick 1-2 for the 'dive' then the abuse'), and lost his head rather than showing a card. Think his suspension was a bit harsh but he should have handled the situation differently and it's bizarre that some of the reaction doesn't acknowledge that.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

So if Judge didn’t get sent off our even a second yellow for calling the ref a FBC, I would love to know what Downes said that was a whole lot worse.

Downes got sent off because the ref's head had gone. He didn't even caution Judge for calling him a f**king cheating bald c**t yet gave Downes a straight red for foul and abusive language just moments later. The only explanation is that Drysdale was looking to settle a score, hence the massive smirk as he red carded him. Of course by the letter of the law he was justified, but when the letter of the law is almost never applied when it comes to foul and abusive language it's hard to conclude anything other than Drysdale wanted a measure of revenge.

....the ref called Judge a cheat, so Judge called him a cheat back.

Seems fair.

Not sure why baldies get offended when they are called baldies.

They are baldies at the end of the day.

It is a breach of law 12 of the Laws of the Game 2020/21 meriting a red card to use “offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures” including towards a match official. FA Rule E3.1, which applies to on-field conduct during a match, mandates participants not to act in any manner which is improper or brings the game into disrepute. Both prohibit abuse of match officials. The laws and rules should be respected by all and enforced with vigour.

So Judge should have been sent off.
