What an utter scumbag on 23:27 - Mar 28 by J2BLUE | You know how I feel about cheats mate. His links to her should be investigated but this headline? Purely designed to cause outrage while offering nothing politically interesting. Boris is a c###. Tell us something we didn't know yesterday! |
My dad had an affair when I was eleven. A terrible time in life to have your world cave in. He was on the verge of leaving but stayed. I struggled to forgive him for years. It was always the go to row for mum and dad for two or three years after. Not nice to hear when you’re in bed as a kid. As I got older I understood him more. No one knows what the circumstances are behind being unfaithful and I wouldn’t judge anyone. Each story is unique. And that’s no disrespect to my mum who was the innocent party. But my dad wasn’t a bad person. He made a mistake and fell in love with another woman. [Post edited 28 Mar 2021 23:53]

What an utter scumbag on 23:43 - Mar 28 by GlasgowBlue | As I said. I’m not condoning or condemning his affairs. Which are numerous. But it takes a certain kind of c..t to shag somebody in the family home, on the couch where your kids watch the telly. It’s pre meditated and suggests he could care less about them. |
I’d say quite the opposite, it suggests he couldn’t care less about them. I’ve never understood the misuse of that phrase.

What an utter scumbag on 23:36 - Mar 28 by gtsb1966 | I've cheated and it led to divorce....which im glad about. You need to ask why some people cheat. |
I don't think blaming the other person in the relationship is the way to go. People make mistakes, but shouldn't then deflect blame. Besides, you're employing your own experience as though it's the norm. Plenty of people cheat because they think they can. It's often that shallow.

The thing is, you say we know, which is all well and good. Yet he has enjoyed support. Which means it's still to sink in with a lot of people. Feck him. He craved attention, now he's getting it.

I've been married three times and divorced three times. In two of those relationships ive cheated. In one of those relationships i was cheated upon first. None of that makes things right but nobody, absolutely nobody, can say what they would do if they are in a position where they find someone sexually attractive and that person thinks the same of you. It happens.

If it hasn't sunk in with them so far I doubt this will push it over the edge but you may be right.

Then we will have to disagree on that. Your assertion that no one can say what they would do doesn't stand up. Plenty get offers but know where they [themselves] draw the line. That's not to judge you. But equally you don't get to write the rules for other people either. I know from my own experiences where I've put principles above everything else. So to be clear, you don't have to explain yourself, but it's not acceptable to justify your own actions by including assumptions for everyone else. That's not how it works. That's fair enough but i still stand by my statement that sexual attraction is such a powerful feeling it affects people's rationale.

If we can talk normally and you don't mind me asking, why get married again if you're basically admitting you can't help yourself? Why take the vows again? You said twice was down to you so you must have known before at least one of your weddings that the vows were meaningless?

It doesn't really, it's not really the same as being drunk, your in control of your feelings and if you're not then sorry but with respect, marriage probably isn't the thing for you. I've been married 14 years, had what I would call chances to cheat if I wanted to, and yeah 100% thought 'corrrrr' in regards to the other women, but im married , so despite having that potential 'sexual attraction' I just left the situation and forgot about it the following day, and carried on with life as normal

The next line doesn't change my question though. You said you cheated twice. You've been married three times. By the third marriage you must have cheated at least once? Goodnight.

Exactly, part of the reason I could never vote for him (that and the fact he represents the Conservatives). In theory an MPs personal life shouldn't make a difference but you can't help judging a person's morality if they're to hold such power

For me there's 2 quotes from Boris which just sums him up R:E Covid " Take it on the chin" - well that worked well " I've gone to a covid ward and shook hands with everyone" - Boris nearly died. And that's our 'leader'

What an utter scumbag on 07:52 - Mar 29 with 2147 views | Herbivore | Given that Jacob Rees-Mogg voted against gay marriage because of his religion I would imagine he'll be tendering his resignation immediately, I'm not sure a man of his strong religious conviction could serve in the cabinet of an adulterer.

I read it that you were surprised Politics For All were tweeting it. And I agree, the fact that she claims they did it on the sofa as opposed to a hotel room bed isn't really politics. It's tabloid tittle tattle. If it was an affair during Covid, THAT would be political and he'd have to resign. As it is, this'll be chip paper by tomorrow. Something else to note, which no-one else has so far, is that she's clearly pretty morally bankrupt herself. She's sold this story to the Mirror, and clearly has no thoughts for his wife and family, airing this muck for money. It could also be lies (which presumably will be Boris' get-out).

People piling in on something different than Coronavirus and Brexit I suppose. Consenting adult cashing in nine years after an event. Johnson’s past and chaotic personal life is well known so for me it doesn’t change my view of him, which can’t get any lower anyway. I think it’s an interesting point as to whether a shambolic personal life is a reflection of a persons character and important or not. In politics it certainly used to be (Profumo) but is it now? I am of the view that within reason, and there are boundaries, I couldn’t care a less what happens in somebody’s private life. It’s their and the people they affect’s business. I’m only interested in whether they can do the job. If Eric Clapton can play guitar like a god but in his own time sticks a grand piano up his nose and bothers consenting sheep who cares.
