I know! Imagine leading Boris astray like that. Shameless hussy.

My dad had an affair when I was eleven. A terrible time in life to have your world cave in. He was on the verge of leaving but stayed. I struggled to forgive him for years. It was always the go to row for mum and dad for two or three years after. Not nice to hear when you’re in bed as a kid.

As I got older I understood him more. No one knows what the circumstances are behind being unfaithful and I wouldn’t judge anyone. Each story is unique. And that’s no disrespect to my mum who was the innocent party. But my dad wasn’t a bad person. He made a mistake and fell in love with another woman.

Don't think I've shared this before but I wouldn't be here if my father didn't cheat on his obviously now ex-wife (well, sort of).

What he did was incredibly stupid, with the only small things in his favour being that he got married quickly at a young age (I believe still a teen).

Obviously didn't work out but instead of doing the correct thing and getting divorced first, he had an affair with my mother, then got divorced.

Not a nice situation for anyone.

It is so rewarding to know that when I require guidance on morals I can turn to the TWTD Forum -
I guess if we still had public flogging, some of you would insist that it is your right to cast the first stone. (I can think of at least half a dozen of you!)

On a lighter note, where is the promised sunshine this morning!

I imagine that was a confusing place to be when you were a kid.

Anyone can make a mistake and I imagine sometimes cheating may not even be all bad (maybe a rotten marriage that needs a trigger to let people everyone on - dunno, I've not been i that position, thankfully).

The obvious thing with Boris is that he's a serial liar and cheat. We knew this already, so this isn't really news.

Arcuri isn't worth getting out of bed for, let alone worth bribing from public funds. Wouldn't be getting my love-length, that's for sure.

Would one take stones to cast at a flogging?

I honestly didn't really find out about it properly until I was about 18, at which point my father had passed away so it's all second hand.

Also found out I had a half brother.

I read it that you were surprised Politics For All were tweeting it. And I agree, the fact that she claims they did it on the sofa as opposed to a hotel room bed isn't really politics. It's tabloid tittle tattle.

If it was an affair during Covid, THAT would be political and he'd have to resign. As it is, this'll be chip paper by tomorrow.

Something else to note, which no-one else has so far, is that she's clearly pretty morally bankrupt herself. She's sold this story to the Mirror, and clearly has no thoughts for his wife and family, airing this muck for money. It could also be lies (which presumably will be Boris' get-out).

JRM would've had to have been living on Mars for years to not know Boris is an adulterer.

He's been living somewhere else for at least a century, judging by his political and social attitudes.

Given that Jacob Rees-Mogg voted against gay marriage because of his religion I would imagine he'll be tendering his resignation immediately, I'm not sure a man of his strong religious conviction could serve in the cabinet of an adulterer.

Ah yes but you’re forgetting JRM’s golden rule - when his Eton chums commit a sin from the bible (adultery) it’s none of his business but when a female pleb has the cheek to get pregnant from a rape, he has to preach about how immoral she is for not wanting to keep the baby.

I find it disappointing.

One moment he seems friendly enough and the next it's back to the default position of slagging off the board. What's the point?

Why not comment on the subject rather take that negative approach towards other people all the time.

The problem with the cheating aspect here is - what with being actual real living people - some posters will have been affected themselves, so it's hardly unrealistic they will then have feelings on the bloody matter is it?

But even putting to that to one side, the issue here with Johnson isn't only a moral one at all, but one of an abuse of power. And quite likely taxpayers money! So it's corruption whichever way you look at it and is in our bloomin' interest.

I cannot get my head around how some members of the public seem to think Johnson, (or Boris, as that is part of the branding isn't it), is one of their mates!

Tory politician in adultery shocker.

I would have thought it was a pre requisite if you wanted to join the party.

Remember when everyone found out about Major and Currie, it was almost joked about, that's how much people are conditioned about the Tories.

I think you'll notice a pattern with the poster in question that the posts unrelated to the content of the thread tend to appear on threads criticising the government.

I agree that the issue isn't so much the affair, it's that he diverted public funds to someone he was having an affair with and then denied any personal relationship with her. I suspect it might constitute misconduct in a public office. It is rather bizarre how little the government cheerleaders - including much of the press - care about this. This kind of thing has become normalised by the government.

You get a certain kind of scumbag that defends the government not wanting to feed poor kids who then goes very quiet on the government spaffing money on handouts to already well off personal connections of theirs. In the case of Covid, it's looking like billions of pounds of money has been spent in such a way. The Arcuri affair is small potatoes in comparison but is indicative of a wider contempt for the public and a sense of entitlement in being able to distribute our money to people Johnson and his government are personally and politically close to. People should be pissing blood about this.

"a wider contempt for the public and a sense of entitlement in being able to distribute our money".

That's precisely what it is, so why on earth do these people cheer them along as they do it?

If it was a Labour Government I'd be doing my pieces too.

But because it's someone they've voted for they feel they've got to stand by it no matter what.

There are still items being published daily about the negative impact of Brexit, it's all there to see, but they ignore that too and then shout loudly when something positive occurs hoping to drown it all out. It's bizarre to watch people I know do this.

You point it out and apparently it's propaganda.

They don't care what they do so long as they continue to upset those on the left. Literally cutting off their noses to spit their face, despite the lies, corruption and contempt for the average man on the street that the Tories have.

People don't like to admit that they might have got it wrong, so rather than contemplate that they do mental gymnastics to justify things that any sane and decent human being would say are unacceptable. Plus as Footers points out the thing they care about most is upsetting the libs, so they'll happily cheer on corruption and incompetence on a grand scale so long as it winds up the right people.
