That or (and I don’t really believe this) Chambers is one of those who Cook was referring to who doesn’t care. Couple that with Nsiala not being match fit then we end up with what we’ve got. It goes against what the rumours were about Chambers being invited to be part of the coaching team, though.

I can't see the point of playing Chambers if he isn't going to be part of the plans going forwards. Perhaps you're right about Nsiala, not being fit enough for a full 90mins hence why he is on the bench.

That’s Nsiala and Chambers who looked rock solid away to Wimbledon.

It should be Woolfenden and Chambers; I have no idea why we’re not going with that. And what’s the point of playing McGuinness and Bennetts when they’re surely not going to be here next season?

You are right, Nsiala and Chambers were crap at Wimbledon. Let's face it whatever combination we put out they are ultimately not very good.

I think our most solid pairing is actually Nsiala and Wilson ,and that is not me endorsing them in any way, just that they are probably the best of a bad bunch. Wilson seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth again.

What’s happens if Ward picks up an injury, or runs out of steam?

But surely McGuinness isn’t going to be part of plans moving forward, is he?

Exactly. Playing him ahead of Chambers makes zero sense.

Perhaps Cook is looking at him for next season, who knows, but Chambers certainly isn't worth playing now.

Though again, what’s the point of pairing him with a 22-year old if so? Surely Cook isn’t planning to go into next season with two youngsters at centre back so why put them, and us, at a disadvantage now?

Who's not leaving or who's left as the basis of that side? All round it's getting odder. At least this is all "free hit" stuff still innit.

Leaves Cook less room for error next August though!

This is what concerns me a touch, He's basically bet the house on an astonishing successful summering the transfer market.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

No idea, the press boys need to ask those questions we're all speculating on here, but none of us really know the facts.

I find it astonishing that McGuinness and to a lesser extent Woolfenden have kept their places in the team after the Northampton debacle.

I would have picked Nsiala and Chambers personally, but we shall see.

According to someone on twitter. Mcguiness has a clause in his loan agreement about minutes.. thus playing him saves us money for not doing so. How true that is I don't know but would explain his inclusion as hes done nothing worth starting

Yes, have to say playing McGuiness is a really strange one. I just don't see the point.

He's not our player
He won't be here next year
He's not very good

Wolfenden, PC probably wants to get a good look at and has said, show me why you should be here next year...and that would be fair enough.

Sticking Chambers or Toto alongside Woolf would give him a greater chance to flourish

There's no way we'll be bringing McGuiness back next season.
