A contract offer is a definitive statement that you want someone in the club. It's qualitatively different from what's been said about the rest of the players being discussed.
The confusion with Drinan is that it's obvious he's never going to be a first team striker in this division, let alone the one above. Yet, he potentially gets a squad spot and the chance to prove himself whilst we're practically shoving out the door younger players with much more evident ability. | |
