Does this mean Norwood is not seen as the main man or not a 90 mins a game most weeks player? I can see one of Drinan and Hawkins being bombed out, but if Jackson has a move sorted we are going to have less diversity amongst our strikers.

Bishop, Stockley, Wyke etc all suggest Cook is going to want us as physical as possible up top doesn’t it?

He's 100% not going to be top striker at the club

yeah that's my thoughts too.

just cant see he will remain fit and focused for the season, hope im wrong, as a half fit, half focus Norwood still banged 10 goals

We’ll be good again... one day

He's an unreliable Banter Lad who is apparently unable and possibly unwilling to keep himself in shape who's over 30. He's not the future.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Doesn't it mean we need a focal point to play to with trickier wide men and a number 10?

I'm hoping we can find an upgrade on Norwood to be honest.

Drinan and Hawkins are both rubbish. Think the point is that your wide forwards provide the pace and trickery, unless you're Paul Lambert and then you stick Alan Judge out there.

(not a dig at Judgey, he was actually a really decent guy and I wish him all the best, it wasn't his fault he was picked as a winger despite the fact that he couldn't run anymore).

James has already told Paul Cook when he's available for next season.
Court appearances aside, he only has a few narrow windows where he can be a**ed to be fit enough to be considered worthy of a first team appearance.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

Id be more inclined to see any incoming forward as a strike partner ( not as in a two up front).... I’d say a fully fit Norwood would be league ones top scoring striker . We haven’t seen his best yet since he’s been here due to his injuries. He will know he has to hit the ground running in ore season ... it’s called competition for your place !

Re Bishop, Stockley and Wyke only the last named hits the net with any regularity. Accrington will milk every penny for Bishop, but as far as strikers who don't actually strike much, he's up there with the best of them. If it's not Wyke, I'd rather not it were either of the other two unless they are not seen as a leader of the line.

Would not be surprised if Norwood moves on in the summer.

Is Bishop an upgrade on Norwood? Not so sure.

The best Norwood can hope for is a place on the bench and he should count himself lucky to even be there.

I didn't say he was, I said we need an upgrade on Norwood, I'm sure you'll agree on that?

Cook made him captain and spoke highly of him.

People (not necessarily you) need to get over the very likely outcome of him staying and playing an important role next season.

Truly impaired.

Apparently it did happen so I've edited.

I'm still very surprised that Chambers would say things like that to a random punter.

Interesting how Joe's had info and then said he probably won't get anymore. Suggests Chambers likes to talk.

Disappointed to be honest.

I know, I’m raising it as a question. And no, I’m not in the camp that feels we need to upgrade Norwood. We need someone else in to provide competition but I’m not in camp who vilifies him or thinks he’s not good enough.

Sadly for Stanley we now have people who are competent in transfer dealings and not Marcus Evans!

That’s the baffling thing isn’t it? Good pros are seemingly being booted out whilst people with big questions to answer like Norwood seem to be preferred. Then we see links like today and it makes you wonder who Cook wants as his main man

Good pros haven’t been ‘booted out’ though, they’ve come to the end of their natural playing ability for want Cook wants to achieve. I don’t think there’s anything contentious in anyone that has been released.

Norwood fits a PC system, others don’t.
