My appraisal of Pigott is… 18:09 - Jul 31 with 4780 views | BLUEBEAT | He is most excellent at spinning/flailing on way to ground. I hope there is more to his game than that.

Maybe I will too. Maybe on Saturday. If he gets a game.

I didn’t. Walters was over-rated. There, I’ve said it.

Don’t know why everyone is getting so flappy. This is based on my observations from 2 friendlies. So far I haven’t seen much out of him. Has anyone else from these 2 games? The Col U goal was OK… being in the right place at the right time is a good thing.

I thought he was really good for Wimbledon against us last year. Caused centre halves a lot of problems, strong, held the ball well.

I just hope the majority of fans will lean on the positives rather than the negatives now. The club is only heading in one direction now and I'd rather give the players hugs than slaps going forward.

I hope you’re right, and suspect you probably are. Although at the same time I can understand people still focussing on negatives. Pretty much everything has been negative for years, so it makes sense to look for the warning signs of another failed signing. That’s unfair on the players, but I reckon some of us need evidence that we’ve turned a corner before we can start to believe. I’m in that camp. I still have doubts that Cook is the right choice, for example. Again, that’s maybe unfair but I’m going off the lack of impact he had last year. I hope he does well obviously, but need some results to get behind.

My appraisal of Pigott is… on 08:29 - Aug 2 with 2761 views | blu_dru | I thought he looked good against Palace, unlucky with a great hit off the post, battled and won flicks and headers against bigger better centre halfs than he will face in League one

There will always be those who thrive on negativity and waste their life looking for it. If it annoys you best to not read their posts, the worst thing you can do is engage with them.

My appraisal of Pigott is… on 09:20 - Aug 2 with 2584 views | EddyJ | I thought he looked excellent in the first half of the Palace game. He won most things in the air and was a real handful for the centre backs. In both friendlies, he faded a lot in the second half, before being subbed. We need a physical target man striker, and Pigott looks like he will fill that role and also score goals. I'd much rather have a target man like Pigott, who can win things in the air, rather than a Garner who just rolls around on the floor.

We had a girl who worked for us and she was only ‘happy’ if she was moaning, or had a drama to let everyone know about. Similar.

I'm exactly where you are, you've just put it better than me! However it is far too early to make appraisals of players at this point. Particularly as different players take friendlies very differently. Pigott should be a good player for us by all accounts.

Unfortunately you are correct, and I'm sure it isn't just ITFC, every fan base has them. I do wonder as to whether they do do it for attention or 'bites' as they call it - not just the OP.

Exactly my thoughts - why post. But then see my above post - attention and/or 'bites' would be guess.

Because he stands out as the most ineffective of the new signings I have seen so far. A fair few of them seem slow/off the pace but that should hopefully improve in a few weeks. I did make a positive post about Evans but people tend to overlook my positive realistic posts.

My appraisal of Pigott is… on 18:40 - Aug 2 with 1866 views | Oldboy | He is a massive improvement on what we had last season. Just go with that for now and maybe give an update for us all after first 10 league games.

Hope so, I think he's our best option for number 9, I do think you need a physical striker in this league. Wasn't singling you out, but more of a general observation that we have a section of fans make their mind up about new strikers very early on, Piggott will need time to settle doesn't need the crowd on his back from the off.
