Signing him today means he should be available for Tuesday - I'd normally say he should start from the bench and given time to gel (that word again!) with the other defenders but, considering our current backline, I can't see the harm in starting him. |  |

We're allowed (edited) 20? outfield players under the age of 21. We've currently got:
Aluko, Bonne, Burgess, Burns, Chaplin, Coulson, Donacien, Edmundson, Edwards, Evans, Fraser, Jackson, Ndaba, Nolan, Norwood, Nsiala, Penney, Piggot, Vincent-Young, Woolfenden
So that's 20 plus excluding Kenlock plus I'm sure we'll be happy to loan out Ndaba and sell Jackson where possible, which leaves twp places available. Centre back and centre midifeld look like clear possibilities; can see why we might look for another number ten too. [Post edited 15 Aug 2021 15:49]

Woolfenden is more likely to be playing centre back than Donacien long term (though Edmundson will surely be first choice alongside Burgess when fit). Ah I was reading an article on, looking back, was an option which had 22; it could be 20.
Harper is U21, misread his date of birth, but I agree - Ndaba will be loaned out and Jackson... goodness knows! | |

Woolfenden has made one clear mistake, admittedly, and looked a bit off but as a young centre back I would like to see him next to a strong leader at the back, rather than a player younger than him with no league experience, a converted right back or another follower. Of course, it could be that he's just shot his bolt and needs to be moved on but would like him to be given an opportunity first. | |

Fair enough, totally get what you are saying. First and foremost I think Cook needs to get a win on the board and he needs to pick a team to win the game on Tuesday night. Lets see who he goes with. | | | |
