But I'm not having the goalkeeper. No improvement on what we had last season and I'd really like us to bring in someone who can just do the basics right. I'm also very unconvinced by Fraser, played central yesterday and still wasnt in the game at all. Hadlky, difficult to judge so early, but so far he's been mixed
Fraser, hasn't really had time to play his preferred role, he's assist shows what you get from him though. He's an important player when used correctly. |  |

Fraser's got a goal and an assist in 4 games, and has created 2.8 chances per 90 for us in the league, the 2nd best in the division. If that's not "being in the game" enough, then christ I don't know what the bar is. I think he's still warming up too, which is ridiculous.
Hladky's shot stopping has disappointed me. It's not that he's letting in howlers, just that he's not bailing us out at key moments either. His handling and distribution are an improvement on Holy though IMO. |  |

To my knowledge that’s the first time Fraser has been played centrally, he’s been stuck out wide for the previous matches which isn’t his game. I thought he was OK until he tired later on.
As someone else on the thread has said, the keeper hasn’t made any real howlers but on the other hand somethings not quite right. |  | | |

We need to give the keeper longer, he's had so many changes in front of him it can't help him to feel settled. However, so far I'm not convinced he is an upgrade on Holy especially based on his whole round game, but hopefully he'll ram those words back down my throat over the coming weeks as we make a charge up the table. Fraser 1 goal and 1 assist so not terrible and mostly played out of best position. Do have 2 or 3 other players who can play No 10.

Fraser received little service, as was the case with Chaplin in the first game, but when he did get it, he did pretty well. His pass for the second goal was sublime, and he set up the chance where Burns hit the post and should have scored. It makes me wonder if we're really set up for a player such as Fraser because we don't seem to like playing it down the middle and tend not to play the short ball to feet, partly because there is such a distance between the players. The result is that we often revert to the long ball which can be a bit hit and miss. As evidence of the problem, Dobra did not receive the ball once when he replaced Fraser. |  | | |

Not exactly impressing - he’s certainly no Bart. However, I think it needs time before he’s judged. He’s at a new club with a new team in front. It’s all a bit of a mess at the moment and there are others not looking too great at the moment too. If it looks this way at the end of Oct that will be concerning. |  | | |

Fraser's got real quality; for the second goal he controlled the ball into space, quickly checked on Bonne's position and played a necessarily inch-perfect blind ball at something over 100 degrees off the way he was facing/travelling whilst being closed down by two defenders. It was really good awareness, rapid assessment and delivery.

Tend to agree. Have to say regardless of gelling or tactics or whatever else is spoken of, I just don’t think many players have lived up to expectations so far. You don’t need to be in a fully functioning coherent team to show you are a good footballer. Only Bonne, Edwards, Penny and maybe Harper have really shown what we would expect of them up to this point.
Hopefully a bit of confidence and more playing time will bring the best out of them, but we need to see a lot more from individuals. | | | |
