Genuine question …. 15:30 - Nov 21 with 6696 views | backwaywhen | Is Paul Cook making us a bang average side ? When the squad we have assembled should be doing much better , for me he still lacks the extra ingredient needed at all levels …. Tactical nouse ! Let’s be honest it is certainly looking that way .

‘A bang average side’ the board is now reaching peak mentalism!!! on 12:59 - Nov 22 by WilbrahamBlue | You don't want Cook out (you tell us!) but the basis of your forum presence seems to be centred on Paul Cook annihilation/your view on his ineptitude/why does anyone accept that play-offs is a success when the aim was top 2! Seasons develop and fluctuate. Aims and aspirations evolve to suit. Many fans are enjoying his tenure, and accept what you unequivocally can't. That's your problem. (PS. I've only been to 5 home games and 1 away game) |
Cool story, bro. | |

‘A bang average side’ the board is now reaching peak mentalism!!! on 08:09 - Nov 22 by Keaneish | I think all our fans have ambition to get out of this league, that’s partly why we’re attending in great numbers. Those going see something building and maturing, which is why we’re happy to be patient. Patient with the building programme and patient with the defeats no matter the disappointment. It’s not about falling ‘head over heels with a manager’; it’s about the sum of its parts that this manager has brought to the club. If you fail to see all the good that’s happening and you want change then put some sensible suggestions forward about how this club would improve rather than bitching about what you don’t like. There are too many fans on this forum happy to share opinion without having the deeper insight which travelling home and away gives you and far too many learning about the events of the club second hand. |
This phase of the project isn't the 'long term build' though. It's 'get out of the third division ASAP'. We stay down, we'll kiss good-bye to a fair few of these players. And the manager who's delivered nearly as many false dawns as his predecessor. Oh, and we're running out of time to be 'patient' with defeats. Automatic promotion is pretty much gone and, right now, if Sunderland and MK Dons win their games in hand, we'll be ten points off a playoff place.

Exactly this. Cook had a good few games last season (which apparently don’t count) and 40% of this season has gone. Like a primitive religion the cult of Cook has simply done away with all mention of Lambert but replaced it with much the same.

‘A bang average side’ the board is now reaching peak mentalism!!! on 07:57 - Nov 22 by timothyeo | Well, the form table has us 9th. So it's definitely not just the start thats impacting our position. Look, I've come to accept our fans just don't have ambition any more and most of them fall head over heels for any manager as long as they say the right things. Look how long it took for half of you lot on here to realise Lambert might not be the answer. Our entire ambition as a club now rests solely on the owners, who will be desperate to get out of this league at the first attempt, despite fans on here being dense enough to believe that everything the owners say to the public is actually what they mean. |
LOL, where were you when we were stuffing Portsmouth and Wycombe away, and near the top of the form table (plus top scorers in the entire football league)? Telling, once again, that you only appear after a (very unlucky) defeat and when we've dropped to our lowest point in the form table for a while.

Sorry I wasn't on here creaming myself over our scintillating form that took us to the tipsy heights of what, 8th in League One? Don't tar me with your own incredibly low expectations. Its why you rated Lambert for so long

I like how you switch it from "form" to "league table" as suits your agenda. My expectations are high, I'm just not an impatient ninny who wants it immediately. And I'm on here win, lose or draw, unlike yourself who only pipes up after a defeat.

Genuine question - When do you think your patience will end with Cook if we continue to stay out of the playoffs? and what do you mean by immediately? | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Genuine answer - how does anyone know when their patience will run out of something? I won't know until it happens, but for me now is not that time. By immediately I mean timothy went hard on Cook ages ago (and only comes back when we lose). It was too soon then, and it's still too now IMO.

I personally think its when little niggles turn into bigger frustrations which then makes you more aware of his faults compared to how you ignored them before. For example. I was pro PC. Everyone knows that. But his continued fraser missuse niggled me. Then the Pigott sub against long throwing Cheltenham. And then we had Bolton.. that was my first real ffs PC. So since then it's been a mix of emotions between seeing positives but the same frustrating faults still there and not disappearing. That's why when people say I change my mind on result.. it is exactly that.. I'm happy like Any town fan is when we win and frustrated when we don't.. but when we don't win alot of the Time it could have been different with better management... I.e this sat.. double sub killed our control.

Genuine question …. on 21:08 - Nov 22 with 1068 views | Swansea_Blue | Yes, for sure. We’re 10th at not a million miles away from mid season, and don’t have a distinct identity, rather relying on individual quality. We’re the very definition of a bang average side.

Happy to use form or league table. Neither are good enough. You've demonstrably proven not to have a clue when a manager is no good until its too late. This is yet another in a long list of examples.
