Ashton rules the roost. Doubt Cook liked it.

Why is anyone listening to Norwood. He shouldn't have been anywhere near the first team. Two be better strikers in the squad and we only played with one striker.

Surely you don't believe that. He's better than Pigott.

No. Christ on a bike, even now he's been sacked for being sh!t the excuses keep on coming. If you really think Ashton was picking the team then what does it say about Cook that he just accepted it and didn't walk out and claim constructive dismissal?

Christ on a bike calm down. I don't think for a minute Ashton picked the team, it's just possible that someone above Cook has taken an 'executive' decision to take a player out of the first team picture. Some people have said Norwood should have been sacked - even if that was likely do think it would've been Cook's call? Obviously not.

You're seeing excuses because you want to. Calm down.

To me, telling people that the manager’s hands were tied is an attempt to create disharmony. He could easily have wished Cook well without commenting on his perceived reasons behind his failure. I can’t think of why he would make that comment other than to try and create disharmony and change the narrative about himself.

I disagree but I can see your point.

Just think he's taken a chance to defend his manager and himself. He gets comments daily asking what's going on, people giving him abuse and also people saying Cook is an idiot for not playing for him.

If he wasn't going in January (likely) he probably wouldn't say it, however.

Norwood should have been sacked after his drink drive conviction.

If the new owners didn’t want him representing their new club I have no issue with it at all.

Get a grip?

Gross misconduct potentially depending on terms of his contract.

Christ.

Does sound believable.

There was something in Ashton's manic celebration at Lincoln that didn't quite sit well. He doesn't seem to mind making it all about him a bit. Nice to see passion but he has been given a lot of power by gamechanger.

Those celebrations at Lincoln were beyond cringe

I disagree, Cook has let Norwood go most footballers in that situation would be angry with Cook and said things like he deserved it, for me Norwood saying what he has said tells us a lot about a lot of problems behind the scenes. I'm now wondering how many of the signings were Cook or Ashton signings.

But what I’m saying is that I don’t see Ashton culling Norwood as a problem behind the scenes, to me it’s the right decision. Some people might agree with that but if norwoods behaviour doesn’t fit in with the owner’s vision for the club then he’s rightly been binned off. There may be bigger / other issues behind the scenes but I haven’t heard anything so it’s hard to judge.

If Ashton is having as much say as rumours indicate we could have a problem. Having said that if a new manager comes in and we see similar issues occur we’ll have a better idea of where the problem may lie.

It's interesting that a post about Norwood gets 4000+ views and 66 comments when the 'news' is Cook. As bums on seats entertainment industry guys the owners should take note of that.

He gets people's attention and people love or loathe him like to talk about him. putting him back in the team is a great story.

And I would maintain he's our best goalscorer as his goals per games record shows whether people like it or not.

not even our best goalscorer this season. 1 goal in 5 games (against an u-21 team)

bonne has 11 in 22

overall norwood has 22 in 66, similar stats to chaplin from a no.10/wide position!

Very interesting.

Ashton no doubt has a huge ego on him. This sort of change does smack a bit of 'look at me'. Even the statement.

It feels like gamechanger are really watching from afar and Ashton has all the power.

He's done some very good things in improving club in short term but I am a bit worried. Not a huge fan of his business corporate jargon style.
