Ashton rules the roost. Doubt Cook liked it.

Very interesting.

Ashton no doubt has a huge ego on him. This sort of change does smack a bit of 'look at me'. Even the statement.

It feels like gamechanger are really watching from afar and Ashton has all the power.

He's done some very good things in improving club in short term but I am a bit worried. Not a huge fan of his business corporate jargon style.

Not really. Supporting the manager who has been sacked over the owners of the club he is contracted to. I suspect he is on his way regardless of who comes in.

Not sure how his hands were tied? Its not like he was being forced to play a style of football he isn't used to, or had a bunch of coaches around him he didn't want.

We are moving towards a structure that is now used extensively in the modern game, if PC couldn't fit into that then its probably best for everyone that he has moved on and we can get someone that is more suited to that structure.

Edit: Ah I might be off here, could be Norwood was only referring to his own situation.

I'd argue if the comment came from a player that wasn't Norwood, it would be taken more seriously.

99% of fans don't know what goes on behind the scenes. Don't know why we have to rubbish comments just because it doesn't fit the narrative or expectation of how things were.

Inside info….. Ashton is ruthless and not very nice

Apparently PC was escorted from the ground and even had to leave his car

Of course it was his choice. He submitted the team sheet every week.

Yeah I edited my reply. Seeing him say "multitude of reasons" as well as "hands being tied" made me go off in the wrong direction.

I think it’s fair enough if Ashton has stepped in and removed Norwood from the squad due to his alleged indiscretions. Of course Norwood is going to take the opportunity to try and create disharmony. Doesn’t mean Ashton rules the roost necessarily but does mean that he’s trying to protect the image of the club. If he’s trying to enforce tactical decisions then that would be a different matter but stopping a player from playing due to him not being a decent representative of the club is fair enough in my opinion.

Christ.

Does sound believable.

There was something in Ashton's manic celebration at Lincoln that didn't quite sit well. He doesn't seem to mind making it all about him a bit. Nice to see passion but he has been given a lot of power by gamechanger.

No. Christ on a bike, even now he's been sacked for being sh!t the excuses keep on coming. If you really think Ashton was picking the team then what does it say about Cook that he just accepted it and didn't walk out and claim constructive dismissal?

Ashton is going to absolutely love telling us all about his process for rigourously vetting managerial candidates.

I agree it's not unreasonable for a Chief Executive to make a decision to take a player out of the first team set up if they really think it's warranted. Sadly we'll probably never know the whole story. I'd imagine Cook would have wanted him involved if it was up to him.

Don't think it's fair to say Norwood is trying to create disharmony. Is he not just saying it how it is (or what he sees it to be)?
