It would indeed be a vanity appointment. But one I can kind of imagine the board going for. And for some reason I can imagine a scenario where it actually works out for us and him, he'd gain the respect of the players, have a half decent budget to work with and a relatively easy gig (compared to some) getting us back to the championship making us contenders and then moving on to bigger things reputation burnished. Of course it could all go spectacularly tits up and buries his career entirely....

I would think there's almost certainly something in it. He's a very obvious choice when you think about the sort of profile our owners will want, he's out of work, knows the area. The question really is whether he would take it, but I would be amazed if there hasn't been contact. |  |
