Sacking Cook 16:02 - Dec 11 with 1195 views | JackSted | Without any kind of Plan B has got to be one of the most self destructing things this club has done over the years. We had more chance of getting the playoffs with Cook in charge. Now these 2 games without a manager has cost us the season. Nice job lads

Sacking Cook on 16:05 - Dec 11 with 1147 views | JDB23 | As I’ve said elsewhere, if 2 games in December have cost you the season, you were probably in a dreadful position before them. Wonder who was responsible for that.

Sacking Cook on 16:07 - Dec 11 with 1101 views | Marshalls_Mullet | Nothing suggests we would have fared any better under cook in these two matches. He simply had a terrible record. Most clubs wouldn't have been as patient as ITFC for a manager with a win record of 29% over 44 games.

Understandable, but it definitely feels like we're playing even worse (if possible) now he's gone. With Cook in charge we would've at least had a chance in these past 2 games. Now it just feels like we're giving the other teams the 3 points

Our scoring record under cook of late was terrible.

Sacking Cook on 16:13 - Dec 11 with 982 views | noggin | Paul Cook was but a tiny cog in the mighty machine of ITFC self destruction. The club has been a mess for near on 20 years. A couple of defeats is neither here nor there in the grand scheme. [Post edited 11 Dec 2021 16:14]

I honestly don’t think there is evidence to suggest tha5 the club are in a mess now is there? game changer are gradually changing and improving just about everything about the club - sadly apart from the ability of the team to win on the pitch! That will come though.

Had a chance under Cook? We limped to a hone win against bottom of the table Crewe, threw away a 2-0 leas against Arsenal U21’s and picked up a turgid draw with Barrow yet you think, with Cook, we would have had a chance at Charlton and Wigan?

Sacking Cook on 16:21 - Dec 11 with 888 views | N2_Blue | whilst I can agree that perhaps we should have had someone lined up before sacking cook that responsibility lies with Ashton and co not the fans. Cook had to go, the mess you are continuing to see is down to Cook, no one else. To blame the fans is just stupid and you join another group of posters who have been idiotic in their blame of supporters for getting Cook sacked. Its a stupid view, Cook got sacked because of his performance, nothing else and fans had no bearing on this.

Sometimes you have to take a step backwards in order to take a step forwards. The most self-destructive thing would have been to stick with Cook and hope that it would get better. We put in performances like these in plenty of Cook's matches so there is every possibility we would have been in the same place. Worse, we might have scraped a point or 3 and extended the directionless drift even longer. It is ironic that you are criticising GameChanger for not having a Plan B (despite having no idea what they have or have not done to prepare the way for a new appointment already) when that was one of Cook's biggest failings.

Fear not, the next manager will fail and we can look for another in the closed season. It's shjte being an Ipswich supporter.

there's no need to get silly about stuff. It's depressing enough as it is. Yes things are not good, but the club is only one managerial appointment from being in a good place, everything else is set up. That's the difference with the years under Evans. Unfortunately Cook, despite his record, wasn't up to it. This season is ruined but get the right manger, who could be someone that majority of fans don't want but maybe works out because they know what is needed with this group of players.

The next appointment will be GameChanger's first. Lampard would be so reminiscent of Keane as Evans' first. An experienced manager without their coaching team around them would be reminiscent of Evans too. I have real hope that the current owners are very different from Evans. That doesn't mean they are guaranteed to get the appointment right, but I think they will do an awful lot to give it a much better probability of it. At the very least I doubt they are simply asking 'Arry who he thinks it should be.

That fact that you are using a league win as an example illustrates their point. They aren't saying Cook shouldn't have gone. But perhaps better to have the replacement ready first.
