Wouldn't have been one of my lot who felt Uncle Horik's collar. The Ham ancestry isn't from Suffolk, Oxfordshire/Gloucestershire via West London and Essex.

Everyone out that way is related to each other if one looks hard enough it seems. I was in Chevington and Chedburgh for 10 years and it is a rather close affair among many of the yokals. Sorry, 'locals'. [Post edited 18 Jan 2022 20:57]

I was born just down the road from there, in Brockley Green. As far as I know, I’m not related to anyone else on here.

I know you were! We discussed this over a quick half pint once. You (and Phil and Guthers for that matter) might not be related to many on here. But out there in them there sticks....

In my defence, my parents had only moved there during the summer before I was born in the December… when they moved again when I was 16, they were still seen as ‘the newcomers’ in the village… And yes, that was a very very quick half pint, as I remember… [Post edited 19 Jan 2022 1:11]

I once got into some row with someone in one of the local establishments and he said something along the lines of "You int even bin 'ere 5 minutes". At that point I'd lived there a good 10 years. Pushing 50 years now in Suffolk and in some parts I'm still unpacking the suitcase.
