Why are we still eating meat all things considered? on 14:53 - Mar 13 by tampa_bay | Let’s see the chicken one please. |
Best one I’ve found: https://myquietkitchen.com/vegan-turkey-roast/ Says turkey but honestly passes as chicken fine if you mix it up a bit with other flavours. We freestyle a bit now. The above recipe shreds well and has a “skin”.

Why are we still eating meat all things considered? on 15:18 - Mar 13 by monytowbray | Well, you are comparing something much worse that needs to end to save the planet, with something not as bad and that could be managed easily within a greener eco system. The grey area was the one you invented to connect these dots incorrectly. Beyond that, please do elaborate what you are (or are not) suggesting because in context I think I’ve got it quite nailed on in the above. [Post edited 13 Mar 2022 15:19]

no, i'm contrasting one situation in which you accept a compromise (because it 's something you personally want) with another situation in which you take an absolutist stand (because it's something you personally don't do). managing the internet to make it less emissions intensive is the equivalent of people eating less meat - you're content with the former, but reject the latter and insist that when it comes to meat it needs to end entirely.
| And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show |

Where did COVID come from? As there’s no hard evidence of it’s origins I don’t have a set theory. I’m not a scientist. Nor are you. Are you denying the fairly strong scientifically proven fact that mass farming has driven recent potential pandemics and the risks will get worse with animal displacement as the climate destroys habitat?

I’ve compromised having a car,, compromised meat and dairy, compromised where I shop, compromise who I take work/money from and compromise on making stuff over buying it. Excuse me whilst I tell the person desperate to defend doing f**k all to get some perspective. EVERYTHING LEAVES A FOOTPRINT. You can choose what that looks like. Again, please do elaborate what ANY of this has to do with pandemics and the OP. Steer it to where you are comfortable and still make yourself look dumb, classic Lowhouse. Basic math. If one thing is 2-4% and another is 13-16%, and you want to get that % as low as possible, which % would you try and impact most? [Post edited 13 Mar 2022 15:45]

And proudly steals from supermarkets… but I’m sure he’s fine if someone doesn’t pay him for his work. Wants people to be better paid - just doesn’t want it to come out of his pocket. Fair enough on the veganism, but the ‘holier than thou’ attitude is a little odd with your selective morals.

I don’t set the wages for supermarkets or extract profits em mass whilst paying low wages. Anything I do has no impact on staff wages, internal greed does that. Inflation isn’t my fault. I didn’t raise your gas bill yet I’ve been paying mine. Shareholders and CEOs and boards did that. Think you need to start punching up. Not sure again what this has to do with meat and pandemics. Are we in “pile on” territory now? [Post edited 13 Mar 2022 15:54]

Well done, you even got an upvote of approval from him too, where I got pages of abuse for saying I've reduced my consumption to wild or organic red meat twice weekly (& only eat that because medically required to, but my inability to reduce to zero wasn't acceptable, apparently). “Him” has a name. GTSB understands why he needs to give up meat and is trying. You spent ages arguing for ethical meat consumption. They are very different takes with very different messages. You upvoted the first post in this thread moaning about “ramming views down people’s throats” too. Very understanding and progressive of the point. [Post edited 13 Mar 2022 17:13]

That the best you’ve got?! Corporations have been thieving from us for years. They aren’t the “woe is me” party, they exist for profit extraction from society. That’s more damage than I can ever do with the odd unscanned soy yogurt.
