3) Weird instagram post (posted by his ex wife) rambling on about the Falklands war
I feel 1) and 3) were him testing the waters to see how the general public would feel about him making some kind of comeback into public life.
I think judging by the reactions I have seen the consensus is an overwhelming "no" !

He's definitely got a huge narcissistic streak, that could only come from a living a priveleged life and having everything his own way, and he definitely has some misguided view that the general public are thick and unerringly see the royal family as beyond reproach. As soon as his mum goes, I reckon Charles and William will hang him out to dry. Hopefully pack him off to live out his remaining days in some far flung colony.

Was over representing Ipswich at the Sporting-Porto cup match recently as Bobby Robson ambassador, trying to get both rivals together in the spirit of brotherly love. Must say the portuguese bifana gives a hog roast a run for its money. But, as you say, the crackling, stuffing and apple sauce set it apart. King of football matches, steam rallies and similar events.
