Tony as ever is on the money, Starmer is bereft of ideas, he should start an illegal war and raise his profile, he could also devolve power to the regions in order to break up the United Kingdom.
The problem being that common sense didn't deliver the wonderful things people were led to expect.
Populism doesn't either - and eventually there will be a swing back to a more pragmatic approach, when voters get fed up with the abrasiveness and lack of prosperity.
I was too young at the time TB came into power to comment so this is an actual question (a rarity on here) but was he that far removed from 'populism'?

Depends how you define populism.
He offered optimism and hope at a time when Tory sleaze was high on the agenda - but not on a scale seen now. Blair, I don’t think, ever banged on about nationalism or took the easy route of attacking refugees or asylum seekers. It’s a real pity he lost his way over Iraq.

Centre-right isn’t common sense if you take an evidence-based look at the world, the UK and their needs. Blair (and Stewart) is just a champion for the soft establishment.
But they’re dinosaurs in real terms.

Part of me can't help but think she's just a lizard dressed up in a Patel costume. If you watch her very carefully sometimes you can see her lizard tongue

We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub.

I've just listened. It was a struggle to disavow my preconceptions about Blair and Campbell, I must admit - though that is something I am working on generally.
A good conversation, with a lot to comment on. I won't bother right now as I don't have the mental energy. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
A good listen, and great to hear the master still so firm in his beliefs and always with good ideas that are streets ahead of what we are seeing at the moment - hopefully Starmer used what the TB Institute come up with as a guide for their policy for next manifesto
