Maybe it's just me, but as a guy approaching his 50th Birthday, it just strikes me as somewhat weird that chaps of a similar age want to get photos with footballers of which some are less than half their age and then worse than that plaster them all over social media pretty much saying look at me. Anything other than sportsman this would seem somewhat cringeworthy, perhaps it's just my age but I find it all very strange. Just felt I had to get that off my chest.

I hit the big 50 yesterday and broadly agree with you. That said, I have photos with over half the 2000 playoff winning squad from the cornhill, golden lion celebrations. Marcus Stewart (proudly wearing his winners medal!), Naylor, DJ, Croft, Magilton, J Wright… I was 28 and quite drunk but absolutely delighted I asked them for a photo

Belated happy birthday Illers.
Welcome to the 'it's all over now' club.
Cheers jeera. I mistakenly frame 50 as a half century, halfway there. But of course, given life expectancy stats, it means I’m more likely three quarters done already. And that sobering thought will either get me off my ass like never before to get things done and make a difference. Or it won’t. Could go either way!

50 now; 28 (virtually) the last time ITFC had something decent to celebrate.
Ouch and happy birthday, welcome to the club.

That’s reliant on remembering what it was you were supposed to even get done.

Happy b-day chap and here's to plenty of time to formulate and see through a grand plan!
Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa

Which is at least understandable given his status and also his outgoing nature.
Guessing the opportunity was appropriate as well.
It's those like the bloke on the other thread who interrupted Nathan Jones during a meal that I can't get my head around. Have some basic respect for the man and oneself ffs.
It was on the 40th anniversary of the FA Cup win and we saw him go into the restaurant next to the one we were in (Gandhi, RIP) with his wife and another couple. We apologised if we were intruding "as you're about to have a meal" but he said, "No, it's an absolute pleasure. We've only just arrived, these guys are quick but they're not that quick!" His wife and the other couple were smiling and seemed fine with it - probably not the first time that day!
He's was my favourite ever Town player even before that day.
I also met him many years before, when I did work experience at the club. I was in a kind of reception/back office area as he came through... and I was in my smartest clothes, including green suede shoes - hey, they were fashionable at the time! They did rather stand out though. He was heading to training, which I was about to watch, but stopped in his tracks to look at said shoes: "Hey, can I borrow those for Saturday?!" he said. I was both embarrassed and chuffed at the same time!
Trust the process. Trust Phil.

I think it means it's time for a sit down and a bit of a rest. Congrats on 50th, born the same week as my brother, who similarly celebrated on Monday.

I once had a coffee in a place where the only other customer was Leonard Cohen. I've been a fan most of my life, but did not interrupt him. I find I neither regret that nor am proud of it. Just seemed normal to me.
Kudos, I feel they're entitled to their quiet moments without being bothered.
I might have just mentioned in passing that 'Sisters of Mercy' is wonderful, and rescued me when I had a few 'dark place' moments in the late 70s.

Chances are he would have remembered the shoes!
Good story. Nice one.
I thought at the time that he probably wouldn't remember... and I was probably too star-struck to say much. But yeah, I regretted not mentioning them afterwards.
Also it's important, in your head, to say his lines above in a very broad Scottish accent. Even after all those passing years it hasn't changed.
Trust the process. Trust Phil.

And still relying on the same lame routine of 15 years ago.
Do what I did and stick it on ignore.
Honestly, the forum is better for it.
He was alright with me years ago, as far as I recall. I think enough of you put him on ignore that he has to work down a list of who to snipe at next. I should be offended it's taken him so long.
I feel sorry for him TBH. When he looks back on his life's achievements and sees 'trolling on TWTD' was one of the highlights, it'll be too late.
I'll await his withering put-down to this and then pop him on ignore myself I think. Good shout. I only have elephantintheroom on it at the moment. I wouldn't be surprised if they're the same sadsack.
Trust the process. Trust Phil.

I once flogged him about 4 pairs of shoes when I worked weekends at Next as a student many years ago. Must have a thing about shoes!
Have met him on a few occasions and have always found him to be a decent bloke, and willing to give a bit of time. No selfies though, this was all before that became the rage.

Me and a mate had our photo taken with the Norwich market twins in the fan zone couple seasons back ……. For some reason I haven’t spotted them at PR lately ?
