I do not think there is ever a time that McKenna is not looking to strengthen and I imagine he has already identified positions and possibly specific targets to Ashton for the January window. I dare say there will also be some late notice Prem/Championship loan players floating around in that window, which could present a good option for us for the remainder of the season and for once, we might actually be a desirable destination for the players. |  |

I don’t exactly know which positions, squad management and balance is key while we are going along the way we are but I do expect us to invest and acquire from a position of strength, if not now when?
The only areas that stand out unless we get other injuries are
Striker
RB
I’m not even sure they are problem areas at this level given how we’ve been going. It might be opportunity led (right player right time) or injury led (cover) or leaver led (backfill). |  |

Can't see that what profile of defender we'd look for really, even after the last two games. We've got 2 that we clearly see as the long term solution (Woolfenden and Edmundson), an old head that we only just signed and a League One stopper who dominates in the air.

Plenty of cover. I can't see us signing anyone unless there is a proper 'marquee' signing available and I'd imagine that will only be a striker. Perhaps that would mean Ahadme going out on loan to get some football in the second half of the season. |  | | |

I think the squad is settled.
Aluko returning and being anywhere near his previous form will be a huge asset in the way in which we play.
Ahadme i'm not sure on, but he'll need a fair bit of time to reintegrate, feel for the lad, might have to wait until Feb/Mar before he's knocking on the door.
Leigh will be another great person to come back, the way Davis plays, jesus, poor lad must be knackered doing a full 90!
Camara will be a different type of addition, think he'll be part of the changing the attack if i'm honest, pick holes by taking ball with him, rather than fancy passing.
Burgess, well, we agree in general that he was excellent pre-injury, but Edmundson has generally been very good too.
I think we're well placed with what we have, but wouldn't surprise me to see a good loan come in for a specific purpose to see out the season. |  | | |

It's all relative. Arguably Sheffield Wednesday signing Michael Smith was marquee for the level, as was Derby getting Conor Hourihane.

I'd agree with this assessment.
KVY just seems far too delicate to be able to rely on, even as back up, and that's been an issue in recent games where JD has looked like he needs a rest.
We've probably got enough up top, but we all know that a bit of extra firepower can make the difference in crucial games. |  |
