So if we get to the final and our opponents are an U 21 team, would you go?
I'm not sure if I would, I hate the idea of the U21 teams being involved and to be honest, it'd be embarrassing -- win or lose!

Yep. Day out at Wembley. Kids would love it.

I don’t think a U21 team has ever made it to the final but you’re right it would be embarrassing and a no-win situation. Then again, who would say no to our first trip to Wembley in over 20 years?

Not taking my son to Wembley and missing out on watching town there in the process

Tough choice. I may just wait 22 years for the next time we get there.

If we beat an U21 team in the final could we justify putting another star on the shirt?

It would be a stretch surely, but not implausible.

Imagine though if we then reached the FA Cup final and won that too as a League One club. What scenes, the limbs would be extraordinary.

Typical Ipswich, never played at the new Wembley in 15 years and then get there twice in the same season.

That would be three times as semi final would also have been at Wembley……no harm in dreaming but hope it doesn’t cost us promotion.

Regardless of who we beat in the final it wouldn't warrant a star of the shirt, it's not remotely significant enough. Celebrate it and enjoy the day out by all means, but it's a minor competition.

It's one of those competitions where while we're in it I will of course hope we win each match, but I also see it as the right opportunity to heavily rotate and give minutes to fringe and young players. If we go out I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

The FA Cup on the other hand is one I hope we throw everything at.

The Texaco Cup wasn't embarrassing!!! Did any of you actually go? We did a pitch invasion at Carrot Road. It was the start of the Sir Bob's success, it was massive at the time.

The Texaco cup was a relatively minor competition for teams who didn't qualify for Europe from England, Scotland and NI. But it was not for lower league clubs and top clubs Youth/Reserve teams!
As Legend rightly says, it was important to Robson's subsequent success.
I was at Carrot Road for the second leg - pandemonium when we won, Mills lifting the Cup in Norwich's main stand - a never to be repeated experience.

I wouldn't go, it's a shambles of a competition (ie including U21s) and deserves any boycott. I'm embarrassed we are even in it.
