I don’t think a U21 team has ever made it to the final but you’re right it would be embarrassing and a no-win situation. Then again, who would say no to our first trip to Wembley in over 20 years? |  |

Regardless of who we beat in the final it wouldn't warrant a star of the shirt, it's not remotely significant enough. Celebrate it and enjoy the day out by all means, but it's a minor competition.
It's one of those competitions where while we're in it I will of course hope we win each match, but I also see it as the right opportunity to heavily rotate and give minutes to fringe and young players. If we go out I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
The FA Cup on the other hand is one I hope we throw everything at. |  |

The Texaco cup was a relatively minor competition for teams who didn't qualify for Europe from England, Scotland and NI. But it was not for lower league clubs and top clubs Youth/Reserve teams!
As Legend rightly says, it was important to Robson's subsequent success.
