Been an absolute rock today, got his head or his foot on everything.

We look so much better defensively with him in the side.

Poll: Assume we have the money for one more big signing. Where do you spend it?

Couldn't agree more. I thought he was our mom today

Yeah. I was of the opinion we should try moving him on in the Summer but he should definitely be starting a lot of games for us. There will be some that just suit Edmondson more but our usual combo of Donacien/Woolf/Edmundson really do have a glaring weakness that Burgess just helps mitigate. He was a big miss through injury and having those 4 plus Keogh fit is really important.

He was superb, MOM without a doubt for me

I came on here just now to write something similar!
We've really missed him at the back.

Poll: Apologies I'm bored. How many signings will we have by Plymouth at home.

Just posted the same on an another thread. A left footer on that left side of our defence provides so much more balance. Edmundson only comes in for me now for Woolfenden. It’s between those two for the central role.

Poll: Where are we going to finish?

He was brilliant, picked up right where he left off before his injury. Look far less likely to concede with him in the side.

Bounced back impressively from a nasty face injury too. Doesn’t seem to have phased him at all.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

I can't see Edmundson replacing Woolfenden. No one brings the ball out better than him, and he is integral to the way McK wants us to play. I also thought he had a very good game today defensively.

It wasn't many months ago we wondered why we bought him. Massive player for us for the rest of the season and a credit to him and the coaching staff for the transformation.

Did we? I rated him over Fridge since we had him but was accused of not knowing anything about football

I think Edmundson will get some game time. He'll have to to prevent him from getting restless.

Burgess and Woolfie were forging that partnership just before Burgess got that terrible injury. Now he’s back, I don’t see any other defensive pairing now tbh. We NEED (dare I say it) a “ traditional “ central defender in there at this level. That’s what’s been missing. Someone who can actually take the game by the scruff of the neck in our box, and “deal” with opponents and balls pumped into the box. Woolfie and Edmundson as a pairing don’t do this very effectively, in my view.

They remind me of some of pairings in the past like Mogga/Vino so hoping they both stay fit because this is very important for our future.

Totally agree. We’ve missed him big time. Sadly for Fridge, he is back-up. But still a lot better back-up than we’ve had previously.

I definitely prefer todays pairing . It’s so much more solid and encompasses all attributes we need at the back. Did you go Nick?

Yes, we looked pretty tight apart from the penalty appeal

I think he will get game time because I am not sure McK will play Burgess in every league game from now on.

I feel sorry for Edmundson who is a very good player. But when we concede our CBs tend to get it in the neck, even if it is not them who are at fault.

If there is an issue with Edmundson, it is his height. Wiki says he is 6ft 3 but when you look at him alongside Burgess, Woolfy and Walton, he looks more like 6ft 1 to me. And it may well be this that is working in Burgess' favour at the moment, particularly as he seems to have improved other aspects of his game. Having said that, I feel Edmundson is more effective on the ball, so may well feature in home games, where breaking down the opposition is the key.

Mr clean sheet please......

Toto Nsiala - MR. CLEAN SHEET ! by Mach_foreignBlue 23 Feb 2021 21:20
Yet another clean sheet when he is in the team.

A scapegoat and easy target for some when we have bad results. Treated very badly by some percent of our fanbase but again it is him who comes off very well.

He gives away number of penalties doesn't he? So what? Yes bad decisions at times, it happens. But his combo with Wilson had given us number of clean sheets and good results at the first stages of the season and they both still look by far our best pair of CB's.

Dismal 0-3 defeat to Hull earlier on this season or that embarrassing home defeat to Swindon. Had Toto played in those the results may have have been better. Surely against Swindon.

Of course both Nsiala and Wilson will have bad days along the way but they will have had more good ones. The facts are undeniable. Our defence is better and more assured when they play.

Both have had a thankless task to cope with one of the best league goalscorers in Wilks but they kept him quiet. They were rigid, tough to break down, they restricted Hull forwards to very little. Hull's best opportunity to score came from a Dozzells' mistake in the first half.

They both are undroppable at the moment particularly Toto.

Christ. I'm not sure how some fans never saw it.
