Best Christmas Film 18:25 - Dec 24 with 3818 viewsDubtractor

What you reckon?

Me and Mrs Dub have a Christmas Eve tradition of watching a festive film. Most watched is definitely Gremlins, tonight's choice is probably going to be National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Mullet will obviously be watching Die Hard.

What's you choice?

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

I'd just fetched the DVD out before reading this. No pub tonight, so it's back to Nakatomi Plaza with a beer or two for me while I supervise the Xmas prep.

One of the best movies ever made but a Xmas movie has to be about Xmas not just set during.

I'm way more flexible - being set at Christmas is good enough for me. And agreed, trading places is a top level movie.

It's not Christmas without the Griswolds so it's National Lampoon Christmas Vacation every year for me.

Gremlins, Arthur Christmas and the Santa Claus as well.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

That was on in our house about an hour or so ago.

I can't see what is good about it, each to their own I'm sure.

Love Actually just came up in conversation at home - I like that as well, mainly because I love Bill Nighy.

Got one of the Terminators on TV atm.

I don't like any of the favourites being watered down by a load of sequels if I'm honest and will probably find something else.

Hit films that become franchises can be a bore as they run out ideas and drag it out can't they; Rocky wins style.

(Die Hard was great and was worthy of a second attempt, but there's how many now?).

Terminator 1 and 2 are incredible films. Everything after is a bit 5 out of ten - not outright terrible, but not good either, and of limited worth.

Junior F insisted that we watch Elf today. When I had got over my sulking (I wanted to watch Escape to Victory) I have to admit that I really enjoyed it. A number of lol moments .

Agree. So many brilliant actors in it.

Love Bill Nighy too but also Alan Rickman, Hugh Grant and Emma Thompson.

Mr Bluebell hates the film but loves Keira Knightly in it!

Keira Knightly is a stunner.

I think I was living under a rock for years as it was only about a year ago that I first saw Love actually - same goes for Bridget Jones which I also really like.
