Have to admit I used to be firmly in the "don't let her return to UK" camp but my view has since softened somewhat. I think she has been a victim of grooming (like many others who left to join ISIS) and also been made somewhat of a scapegoat by the UK govt.
I'd give her a break and let her come back now on balance I think.

As a relative newbie I don't know what's gone on before (and didn't mean to upvote the original comment) but I'm not that fussed on echo chambers anyway. This is why I like this section of the forum because a variety of views are exchanged, usually in a constructive way. Elaborating on Shamima Begum, my views are based on the fact that- (a) she seems to have been groomed at an early age, (b) she seems to be being used as an example or scapegoat, when to my knowledge there are other people in her situation who have not been stripped of their British citizenship, and (c) she is a British problem which Britain should deal with.
The same people who attack Harry for talking about his time in the army are the same people who had a massive hard-on when he said exactly the same about ten years ago.
Meanwhile, as you say, Randy Andy gets away with it daily.
And are also, the same people who don't think that Alexander Blackman should have faced legal action for breaching the Geneva Convention.

Not really sure how anyone can be held fully accountable as an adult when the mistakes they made were done at 15.

At 15 she is considered above the age of criminal responsibilty. There is evidence that she was a willing participant in the activities of ISIS when aged 18 (an adult) and only appears to have renounced them after a spell in the camp in Syria.
I expect many will be of the view 'you made your bed, you lie in it'.
A view that will benefit British intelligence and others who may not wish for any trial to be held, where all manner of uncomfortable evidence might surface.

A 10 year old is above the age of criminal responsibility, 10-17 you are not treated as an adult in the legal system. If there is evidence she participated in ISIS activities at 18 she should be tried here, the country she was born and lived in until she left for Turkey

I have not stated that she should not be tried in the UK.
What I have done is put down my thoughts as to why she has, so far, not been returned - and why removing her citizenship is likely to be a useful ploy to avoid having her returned etc

There was a similar case very recently where a girl in care ended up joining a far right group. Her criminal charges were dropped as they recognised she had been groomed and was vulnerable as a child. Shouldn’t she be treated the same as the far right girl ?
