Feel like the club should really make a thing of playing Edward Ebenezer just before kick off in home games. Loop the chorus three times and have a decent graphic with the words on on the big screen. Feel like it’s our only original song and could get the whole ground involved, kid friendly and catchy once you know the words. It would be good to encourage everyone to teach the words to their kids etc and get everyone involved.
Looping it would mean that everyone would be in time, I think when it’s sung by section 6, by the time it’s caught on and has reached the other parts of the ground there’s just enough time for people to sing ‘but everybody calls me Ted’ and then it’s done.

I don't think a 1960s Carry On soundtrack really fits with the modern, dynamic football club vibe that Ashton & Co are aiming for.
I like that we actually have an original song but it's a pretty embarrassing one.
From a time when we were on the up, no swearing, all inclusive Sing-a-long. And you find it more ‘out of touch’ than say ‘Bubbles’, ‘ you’ll never walk alaone’, or for heavens sake ‘on the ball city’! Whatever your views on that tripe, it is theirs and theirs alone.

Also make room for ‘Blitzkrieg bop for the Ipswich lot’! And I reckon a call to Monkey at Adicts HQ could seen something worthwhile. However, do not use their version of ‘You’ll never walk alone’!

The Ipswich football calypso on the b side to EEJB has some unique lyrics .... for instance rhyming no fatigue with win the league!.... again no swearing

I've always liked it. It's uniquely ours and a great singalong, if a little wordy. It definitely has a place on matchday, but not sure about it being adopted as our anthem.
Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.

No opposition would be intimidated by EEJB because it’s the kind of song OAPs might sing on their bus trip to Margate. The West Ham and Norwich songs have both been mentioned on the ‘worst football chant’ thread recently so I’m not sure it’s in particularly great company!
When I were a lad. Along time ago I would go on an away trip to watch Town. Some of our songs went like this. I,I, I,I, Hancock is better than Yashin and Crawford is better than Eusebio and (whoever we were playing) is in for a thrashing. Or we've got Billy Baxter in or team, we've got Billy Baxter in our team, we've got Billy Baxter in our team were the best team in the land. we would go through all the players. With the advert now on TV with Ringo singing Yellow Submarine we used to sing to that tune "We all p*ss in a Green and Yellow pot, a Green and Yellow pot, a Green and Yellow pot.

They should ask Sheeran to record a video version of it to put on the big screen. Given his pull if they released it it would probably get to No 1 in the charts......
Good idea. Allegedly he does like to copy other people’s songs

Well said! Far more embarrassing to be singing versions of songs that every other club’s fans around the country also sing.
Must admit I was one the train home yesterday from Peterborough to Huntingdon Posh fans were singing there version of the same songs we had been singing.

Ridiculous. Not every song / chant is about intimidation, in fact most arent. It’s about atmosphere and being together, unity, loyalty and supporting our club, not giving grief to the oppo. You’ve really got this all wrong.
Songs are all about intimidation. Haven’t you seen the opposition fans cowering from our bouncy bouncy?
Agreed. A bit of light hearted singing, catchy tune. I can’t see a problem, other than people not knowing the words.

That's where everyone has been going wrong with "que sera, sera" too. Not intimidating and from the 1950s!
Oh dear 🙄
