i suspect on the speadsheet it's an investment with a view to selling in the future which is where they will want it to go.

It looks like we are buying good quality young talent that will have great re-sale value if we / they do well. That is exactly how we should be operating rather than the banter era days of chucking huge contracts at players in their 30s with no chance of ever getting that money back.

Very much feels like following the Brentford model in terms of selling 1/2 players to essentially fund the club. It's a proven model and Brentford aren't doing badly. It does require patience though. |  | | |

I do agree its a good money, its hard to find players who improve and values goes up. Our squad seems swollen to me at the moment.
I will be interested in who leaves this window and for how much. Especially now having back Pig and Penny. I would like these to be sold but i fear there will be a low demand. | |

Broadhead is 25 so not sure he's one we make a profit on - think like a lot of our signings he is just one to try and get us over the line.
I can't imagine anyone other than Edmundson, Harper and Edwards from last seasons lot were ones we could have turned a profit on, and now Davis and Clarke this season - most signings will have little resale value when looking at age and wage profiles |  |

Not sure id view it as “ really putting some pressure on JD”, but more one of allowing JD to be rested / rotated etc. Burns is another one that needs a rest . It just keeps the squad/ team fresh going into latter part of season. |  |
