Plymouth fans forum 19:38 - Feb 25 with 8290 views | ringwoodblue | is a bit tasty tonight. Lots saying that Schumacher is making too many changes and that Cooper’s absence is costing them, some saying the Pizza trophy is a distraction and others saying it’s just a blip and there’s no cause for concern. One said ‘Losing Cooper for rest of season will cost us promotion. Burton isn't vocal enough, and communication with defence is non existent.’ Let’s hope he/she is right. Look out Muff, we are coming to get you! [Post edited 25 Feb 2023 19:39]

It is: Charlton Grimsby (Fac) Posh

Plymouth fans forum on 20:00 - Feb 25 by Hipsterectomy | we've caught up 5 points in 2 games, with 5 points to go (4 if you count g/d) no wonder they're getting worried |
You don't get a point for GD....it remains 5. But 5 will do it with our GD.

Plymouth fans forum on 11:52 - Feb 26 by clive_baker | We’ve not really played any better than most of the games that went before it, like you say we’ve just had that rub that maybe we weren’t getting previously. I don’t think we were playing badly before, we just had too many draws and there are too many people that let results dictate the narrative. For all the flouncing and bed wetting we’re now unbeaten in 6, we’ve taken 12 points from them (2ppg is a decent run rate), including 2 four-nil home wins and now 3 consecutive clean sheets. We’ll be in March by our next game and we’ve only lost 4 games all season, and one of those was a complete farce in the fog. Even a number of our draws you could certainly argue we were unlucky (Wednesday away, Barnsley, Charlton) all spring to mind plus others against very stubborn defensively minded opposition who we’ve struggled to break down. Fundamentally there isn’t a lot wrong. I think supporters need to remain a lot more subjective, enjoy the journey and appreciate the progress that’s being made. |
Objective. But good points.

Could you explain why you believe the world to be upside down with Luton and Millwall being in the championship playoffs? Both teams haven’t been utterly rudderless with 15/18 years of failure to their names

Plymouth fans forum on 15:56 - Feb 26 with 862 views | lizzibee | I had a good read last night. I genuinely think this is their blip. They lost top spot and were thumped yesterday and lost Cooper and Whittaker. Its the perfect time for us to pick up points now. They have two brutal games next ad we (on paper) have much easier. I can see them dropping to third and if they do that they won't get back up - IMHO

Plymouth fans forum on 22:55 - Feb 25 by Tonytown | Our season will be defined by the following 3 away games: Bolton Barnsley Derby A win and 2 draws out of those, or perhaps 2 wins & a draw is what we need to keep up the hope for the top 2 & it keeps those teams at bay behind us. |
We have 13 matches left. If we were to lose those 3 and win the other 10 we would be promoted. Conversely, if we win those 3 and lose the other 10 we would have 72 points and finish outside the play-offs. Of course neither is going to happen but there is no way that those 3 matches define our season. In addition to the difficulty of those 3 matches, we have Peterborough away and none of the remaining oppositions will lie down to be easily beaten any more than MK Dons did in the first half yesterday. A draw from each of those 3 matches would probably be a good result. Whether that is enough to catch Plymouth would depend on how many other matches we fail to win.

It all depends on how long each sides' blips last. Losing their keeper (I hear for the rest of the season) is a big blow to them.

Yeah, we focus on "big games" but reality is that Top 2 is a hugely challenge and probably means taking maximum points from at least 9, probably 10 of our remaining fixtures. If we manage that I can't see that it would matter very much which of the 3/4 games we'd dropped points in.

That may be true but those 3 games are a huge chance to dent the other 3 teams chances of automatic promotion. We probably need to win 9/10 of our remaining 13 games but Bolton, Derby, Barnsley are all in very similar positions with little margin for error. We can't control how they do in their other games but we can control what they do against us. [Post edited 26 Feb 2023 17:08]
