Edit: Just realised I misread your post...... It's not a team, but anyway. Plenty more players to choose from.

BRU?!?!?!?

Gates behind Mariner and Brazil, no question.

You already have three box to box midfielders, two who were very good top division and international players, and one of whom is arguably the best box-to-box goalscoring midfielder to have played in the English Leagues.

I don't think Wark, Holland and Talbot need Bru to help them out!

An alternative would be to put Osman or Hunter in at the back in a three, with Butcher anchoring as he did at Italia 90, and give Mills and Burley more freedom to attack, as your team lacks width.

I would drop Bru out completely and have Kuqi on the bench as a striker no tired defender would want to see coming on for the last 15 minutes.

Anyway, I think our lot probably have enough in the tank to beat Iwan Roberts and Pukki.

I was being a little facetious with him, as if to prove a point!!

I did think Gates as a No 10

or just to annoy Sheff Wed fans play Greg Leigh wide left

Jim might be a little miffed to have not even got a mention so far.

Crawford has to go in ahead of Brazil - two caps while at Town.

I think Whymark, David Johnson 1st and Colin Viljoen managed a few caps between them too.

Yeah, but it's not really his caps that mark out Crawford ahead of any of those, or indeed, Brazil in the first selection - he was just an all-time Town great who ranks alongside Mariner up top.

Did Amir Karic play any internationals whilst with us?

I know he only played a handful of league cup games, but we signed him after he played in the Euros in 2000.

Off the top of my head I came up with this potential team for Norwich. I certainly wouldn't swap our international side!

John Ruddy (45 minutes for England) or Michael McGovern (Northern Ireland)

Steven Whittaker (Scotland)
Grant Hanley / Russell Martin (Scotland)
Sebastien Bassong (Cameroon)
Jamal Lewis (Northern Ireland)

Marcelino Núñez (Chile)
Wes Hoolahan (Rep of Ireland)
Kenny McLean (Scotland)
Onel Hernandez (Cuba)

Teemu Pukki (Finland)
Josh Sargent (USA)

You could probably add the non-scoring Welsh international, Iwan Roberts in for them, perhaps?

Indeed, but they’re still better than the rubbish that turned out for our beloved neighbours

Norwich could also claim Chris Woods/Dave Watson (England), Andy Townsend (Ireland) and Robert Fleck (Scotland).

Looking at his Wikipedia page I think he may have a unique stat in having played more minutes at International level than at club level. I know we signed him after his excellent performances at Euro 2000 (but the excellence of those performances was enhanced by being part of a remarkably cohesive Slovenian team) but he also played seven times for the national side in 2001 and at the 2002 World Cup when he was on our books and only made three League Cup appearances. Probably not the only signing to have played at a higher level with the club we loaned him to (Crystal Palace in the First Division, also three appearances and then they sent him back.)

Didn't Richard Wright play a friendly game for England in Malta while still at town? I seem to remember it was a game so poor it looked like Kevin Kegan was nodding off.

I'd probably stick Rob Earnshaw ahead of Sergeant in the Nodge 11..
