The report summary is really short and very clear. None of the right wing brigade are disputing its findings, but are claiming conspiracy and foul - with as you say hypocrisy and irony.
What Blair did is irrelevant. What others did was irrelevant. The report is about Johnson and misleading Parliament. Nothing else. What part of this are they not getting?

Dorries, JRM and the rest of the 12 who have challenged this are basically saying it was a stitch up. It was not independent. That Harman and the Committee were out to get Johnson. They need to provide hard evidence of their accusations as they are challenging the reputation of the Committee members and Parliament itself. If they cannot provide substantive evidence, they should be hauled before a Parliamentary Standards Committee themselves and if found guilty, thrown out..
This is about democracy. By nature cross government committees / Select Committees are politically independent. If you have seen them and didn’t know the Chairperson, you’d never know what their political persuasion was. It’s how it’s always worked. These oddments want to change all that.
Lastly, where is Sunak? Time to crawl out from under your rock. Members of your party are challenging the very essence of Parliamentary democracy. Show some backbone - just once.
