Although being public / allowing it to be public that we’ve ‘moved on’ does smack of a negotiation tactic. It’s likely Peterborough need the money and us showing that we’re happy to look elsewhere might make them think they might need to be more flexible before they lose us as an interested party.
It’s all speculation and I’m sure we were also looking elsewhere but we wouldn’t have become uninterested in him overnight when we’ve chased him for a year. It’s just a case of being interested at the right price. | | | |
