Squad is starting to look more manageable now, with room for 3 new signings before we'd need to lose anyone

CB - Need one more, preferably left sided, Dom Ball can cover at back as well
CM - All set

ST - Need 2 more here, maybe one to be a hybrid striker

There will no doubt be some 'trading' as well, and we will see areas off the pitch which end up 1 in 1 out - but think we can see what we want now.

If we got one more striker in, you could be fairly comfortable starting the season with the other striker and other CB following on in August.
Especially assuming we will be waiting for PL clubs to confirm their squads to see what might fall out of that process?

Maybe an upgrade to Harness if we were being greedy, but that would require him being shipped out to cover it.

1 is essential, 2 is still a bit of a nice to have IMO. As in i’m sure we will, but I wouldn’t be too worried if not. Especially if we’re going to play with 1 through the middle again. Obviously an injury there would leave us short but Jackson is also an option, albeit not one we really want to see.

I can see a fairly big singing up there (we wanted Simms, expect we still want GH) and maybe a loanee.

Not sure we will see that much churn. As per OP, three additions give us a good squad without creating friction by binning under contract players at this stage of pre-seaosn. I suspect over time we will see the upgrades you mention, I am not convinced we are targeting seven more signings this window.

Assume Hirst is awaiting Leicester's trading themselves.

But agree, I can see us getting a couple up top, with one capable of the McGoldrick type role. Maybe that is Chaplin though who can play the No.10.

What's with the constant disrespect of Burgess?
Sell him on, replace him with fridge etc.

He was a rock, unbeatable in the air, provided balance on the left hand side, now has very decent ability on the ball and was pinging some excellent cross field long passes.

He displayed a level of consistency that Fridge has been unable to. Was he caught out a couple of times and turned in about 30 games last season? Yeah. Show me a champ defender that won't make a mistake all season or get turned by pace a few times.
