Things continue to go well at Sheff Weds 13:20 - Jul 13 with 6569 viewsIllinoisblue

This from owlstalk on their owner:

The main takeaway is that

1) the club is apparently going to lose £30million this year
2) Chansiri has no plan regarding how to address this

But also there is a lot of stuff about things like how Chansiri considered the 'Brentford' approach of actually making a profit from transfer dealings, but rejected it as too expensive. Also he doesn't think it is worthwhile trying to attract kids to watch because they all just like the Premiership anyway, and he would do away with season tickets if he could because he just wants to charge everyone a different amount based on how well the team is doing on the pitch. Apparently this last bit is the reason for all the different categories, incidentally - he's going to charge more if we are towards the top of the table.

There was talk of them being in financial trouble last year and Championship football was essential to minimise the losses.

Their most expensive normal ticket is £59 for South Stand for adults and £49 for concessions. It's expensive...

This, combined with the new manager they've hired, is why they'll be one of my favourites along with QPR to get relegated this season.

If you've not listened to it, worth listening to the Second Tier pod, they're doing a ranking of managers in the championship this season, good insights. Some of the best is on Wagner, his recent record since leaving Huddersfield is truly shocking when you deep dive into it, the last 6 months' performance is why they'll also be my outside bet to finish in the bottom half and struggle....maybe even get relegated. Lots of complacency and negativity in Norfolk i think.

Same. Still annoyed at Posh failing to clear that ball properly in the last minute.

I shall be rubbing shoulders with them at 5 a side as ever tonight so I'll send them your regards

One of them was telling me the other day about this £59 ticket malarky . He reckons it's all blown out of proportion and that tickets includes food , is a Gold Level game and people are just assuming that that is the going rate all season . I think he missed the point regardless

I'll have great pleasure taking the pi55 out of them again tonight in my Town shirt !

Racketeering innit. He sounds like a total cock, and whilst there's an element of their support I really don't like, you wouldn't wish it on any club. Except Norwich, obviously.

Ask them if they ever got punished for throwing missiles at the assistant ref.

Carlos Carvalhal says he'd go back to Weds in a heartbeat, he's had some impressive success over the last few years.

If I wad them I'd be begging him to come back. Their owner seems completely clueless as to how to run a club. Making a profit on transfers is too expensive? How do you explain that one? I guess he ment initial investment. Not sure why he still owns the club...to what end?

Our fearless leader is the greatest. Sure he got 11 holes in one at golf.
But yes he’s a total c___k. Definitely relegation material 😩

Carvalhal failed to get promoted with their expensively assembled squad. They'd score for fun though.

It absolutely doesn’t.

My wife - former ST holder and Owls member for years - isn’t renewing this season after listening to the fans forum with Chansiri.

He apparently also said that no matter how full it is they can’t sell any more food or drink as they are at capacity for their current staffing levels and he won’t employ anyone else on that side of the business:

Come again?

He's turning down more money if it's there?

Nuts

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

Looking at the state Barnsley currently find themselves in. At least this owner says it how it is.
And how it’s gonna be.
