I’d rather us get the best that can possibly get as opposed to just getting bums on seats for the sake of it
If Plan A falls through like a few have seemingly done then I’m pretty confident with our structure we will have a further plan.
I’d rather not rush into things and perhaps miss out on a few targets instead of being a SW fan who seem to be highly delighted by singing a young striker from Monaco who has scored around 15 goals in 4 years
I’m sure MA and the team will get this right - have to confess my patience is being tested but we are a different beast now |  |

Given where we are supposedly looking for some of our targets it was always going to take time. Yes we have missed out on players we were clearly interested in but people seem to have forgotten we are fishing in a very different market now and have significant competition including PL parachute payments and teams who have got significant fees for players. Hopefully in 12 months time that might be us. I always knew patience would be required and we would miss out on some. I am also confident we didn't have all our irons in one fire. Hutchinson would seem to be an excellent example of us covering ourselves and still getting quality.
Some of the recent gnashing of teeth and hand wringing does seem a bit much. [Post edited 2 Aug 2023 17:25]

That was a massive exception to the rule - usually January windows are much more expensive and restrictive than we had. |  |
