So, QPR… by
BlueBoots 15 Aug 2023 10:44Was at the AFC Wimbledon v QPR friendly in pre-season; QPR definitely had some good players, but they just didn't seem to have a style of play that was working. Ainsworth has basically come out this week to say that after the 4-0 defeat, he's switched from trying to get the players to fit his way of playing, to finding a system that is going to get the best out of the players he has.
Played 2 big physical forwards against Cardiff in Dykes and Armstrong (young lad looks a bit raw, but a real handful - their fans are hoping he can become the next Les Ferdinand which would be quite something), so not something we've had to face too often. Both of them have a bit of pace too, and there are other decent players backing them up.
Don't think we should underestimate them (luckily we have a manager who won't allow that, and players who get that); first home game (in the league) this season, which always adds a bit to the home team (as it did with us on Saturday)
