Ex-players you're surprised don't have much to do with the club 14:20 - Aug 22 with 10048 viewsHipsterectomy

This isn't meant as a dig at them and I'm unsure of their current geographical location or employment situation

I saw the Wembley highlights and was reminded of Naylor scoring and then setting up the 4th goal. He ended up approaching 400 games for us in all competitions and had a testominial yet since retiring I don't think has had much, or anything, to do with us (maybe co-comms on Suffolk?).

Fabian Wilnis as well - over 300 games, 10 years at ITFC, brought him to England etc.

Get them to a game, Matt Holland, so we can celebrate these guys!

I think Naylor has been pretty much working non stop since he left here in Leeds and now Hull academies - similar to Jamie Clapham where they just are not free during the season

I'm sure both would be more involved if they were more local. Fabian lives back in Holland and Bam Bam in Yorkshire. Got both on the Wembley 2000 radio thing we did.

Naylor appeared in the Wembley 2000 video that was produced a few years ago. I’m guessing he lives in Yorkshire, and I think that Wilnis may still live locally? Edit: Scratch that.

I have to say, it was really good to see Tommy Miller, Marcus Stewart and Jim Magilton all back at Portman Road over the course of last season.

Paul Cooper seems to have been estranged from the club since the day he left.

Maybe i'm misremembering but I don't even think he came for any 81 anniversary do's.

I guess some people just have had enough of the game that was their life for ages, and Coops is happy to leave it all behind and soak up the sun in Spain.

He lives in Spain. We had him on the phone on the Life's a Pitch celebrating Sir Bobby's 90th birthday earlier in the year. He came back for the Ex-Players' Dinner when he he was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

I think that Phil said a while ago that Joe Royle felt he wouldn't be welcome back at Ipswich, so just hasn't been back - what!?

Naylor was always Leeds through and through. Not to say he doesn't have time for Ipswich of course but I'm not surprised he took the move there and stayed afterwards. He even had a Leeds United tattoo.

Richard Wright and Titus don't seem to get too involved. Obviously Wright has got his City gig at the moment so don't suppose he's likely to, but not sure what Titus is up to. As local lads you think you might see more of them.

Fabian was/is a manager and a few years ago he brought a group of his players to watch a Town game, I spoke to him and still a great guy and was happy to talk to fans, think it was 2018 or 19 but can't remember.

Maybe he misunderstood when he heard there wasn't much love for the Royal family.

He was present at the 30th anniversary of the UEFA cup win.

He's been back, was at the ex-players' do one year and we've had him on Life's a Pitch. Can't remember saying that or that being the case but might have been at one point.

I found it crazy when Miller said he'd never been back to Ipswich since retiring! Then he was there almost every month doing co-comms and couldn't be kept away!

On a semi related note I was surprised at the muted reception that we gave Eric Gates during half time at Sunderland.

Surely a Town legend?
